1 COR. 11. 14—16.—111. 1—3.

is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God, Rom. viii. 5-8.

c For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 1 Cor. i. 18-20.

d See on John vi. ver. 45. clause 1,2.

VER. 15.

A. D. 59.

All things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you, John xv. 15. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world, xvii. 6. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me, 8. But I certify you, brethren, that the Gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ, Gal. i. 11, 12.

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern good and evil, Heb. v. 12-14. As new-born babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby, 1 Pet.

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and doAmen, minion for ever and ever.

Therefore thus saith the Lord God, I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones, in my fury to consume it. So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, that the foundation thereof shall be and bring it down to the ground, so discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
