13 Porque si la sangre de los toros, y de los muchos de cabrío, y la ceniza esparcida de la becerra santifica á los inmundos para purificacion de la carne;

14¿Cuánto mas la sangre de Christo, el cual por el Espíritu eterno se ofreció á sí mismo sin mancilla á Dios, purificará vuestra conciencia de las obras muertas para que sirvais al Dios vivo?

13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh;

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

15 And for this cause he is the

16 Porque donde hay Testamento, necesario es que intervenga la muerte del testador.

17 Porque el testamento solo tiene fuerza despues de la muerte, pues no es valido mientras vive el testador.

18 De donde vinó que ni aun el primero fué celebrado sin sangre.

19 Porque habiendo Moysés leido á todo el pueblo todos los preceptos de la Ley, tomando sangre de becerros, y de machos de cabrío, y agua, y lana escarlata é hisopo, roció con ella el libro, y todo el pueblo,

20 Diciendo: esta es la sangre del testamento, que Dios os ha mandado.

21 Y además roció tambien con sangre el tabernáculo, y los vasos del ministerio.

-22 Y casi todo es purificado segun la Ley con sangre, y sin derramamiento de sangre no hay remision.

23 Y así fué necesario que las figuras de las cosas celestiales fue

by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.

19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book and all the people,

20 Saying, This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you.

21 Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.

22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heav

24 For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:

27 Y así como está establecido que los hombres mueran una sola vez, y despues el juicio;

28 Así tambien Christo se ofreció una sola vez para quitar los pecados de muchos, y la segunda vez aparecerá sin pecado á los que le esperan para salvacion.

CAPITULO X.

PORQUE la Ley teniendo una

sombra de los bienes venideros, y no la misma imagen de las cosas, no puede jamas hacer perfectos á los que se acercan por aquellos sacrificios, que sin cesar se ofrecen cada año.

2 De otra manera, ¿ no habría cesado de ofrecerse? porque una vez purificados los que sacrificasen no tendrian ya conciencia de pecado. 3 Mas en estos sacrificios se vuelve á hacer cada año conmemoracion de los pecados.

4 Porque no es posible que la sangre de los toros, y de los machos de cabrío quite los pecados;

5 Por lo cual entrando en el mundo, dice: sacrificio y ofrenda no quisiste, mas tú me has preparado un cuerpo.

27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

28 So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

CHAPTER X.

Fotod things to come, and

OR the law having a shadow

not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices, which they offered year by year continually, make the comers thereunto perfect.

2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins. 3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

5 Wherefore, when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:

6 Holocaustos y sacrificios por el pecado no te fueron gratos.

7 Entonces digé: Heme aquí que vengo, (segun está escrito de mí en el principio del libro,) para hacer, oh Dios, tu voluntad.

8 Diciendo arriba sacrificio, y ofrenda, y holocaustos, y expiaciones por pecado no quisiste, ni te agradaron, los cuales se ofrecen, conforme á la Ley.

9 Entonces dijo: He aquí que vengo para hacer oh Dios, tu voluntad. El quitó lo primero para establecer lo segundo.

10 Y por esta voluntad somos santificados por la ofrenda del cuerpo de Christo hecha una vez.

11 Y así todo sacerdote se presenta cada dia á egercer su ministerio, y á ofrecer muchas veces los mismos sacrificios, los cuales no pueden jamas quitar los pecados.

12 Pero este habiendo ofrecido por los pecados un solo sacrificio, está sentado para siempre á la diestra de Dios.

13 Esperando en lo que resta, hásta que sus enemigos sean puestos por peana de sus pies.

14 Porque con una sola ofrenda hizó perfectos para siempre á los que son santificados.

15 Y tambien nos lo atestigua el Espíritu Santo: porque despues de lo que había dicho antes:

16 Este es el pacto que haré con ellos despues de aquellos dias, dice el Señor, pondré mis leyes en sus corazones, y en sus almas las escriberé.

17 Y nunca jamás me acordaré de sus pecados, y de sus iniquidades. 18 Pues en donde hay remision de estos, ya no hay mas ofrenda por pecado.

19 Así que, hermanos, teniendo confianza de entrar en lo mas Santo por la sangre de Jesu-Christo.

20 Por un camino nuevo, y de

7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me) to do thy will, O God.

8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;

9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:

12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.

19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,

20 By a new and living way,

22 Lleguemonos á él con corazon verdadero, y con plena confianza de fé, purificados los corazones de conciencia mala, y nuestros cuerpos lavados con agua pura.

23 Conservemos firme la profesion de nuestra fe sin titubear, porque fiel es el que hizó la pro

mesa.

24 Y consideremonos los unos á los otros para estimularnos á caridad, y á buenas obras.

25 Y abandonando nuestra congregacion como algunos tienen de costumbre, mas exhortandonos mutuamente, y tanto mas cuanto veis que se acerca aquel dia.

26 Por que si pecamos voluntariamente despues de haber recibido el conocimiento de la verdad, no resta ya mas sacrificio por el pecado.

27 Sino una cierta, y terrible expectacion del juicio, y una indignacion abrasadora, que devorará los adversarios.

28 El que despreciare la Ley de Moysés, muere sin misericordia por el testimonio de dos ó tres testigos. 29 De cuanto mayor castigo creeis que será digno el que hollare el Hijo de Dios, y tuviere por cosa profana la sangre de la alianza por la cual fué él santificado, y hubiese ultrajado el Espíritu de gracia.

30 Porque conocemos al que dijo: mia es la venganza, yo daré el pago, dice el Señor; y otra vez: el Señor juzgará á su pueblo.

31 Espantosa cosa es caer en las manos del Dios vivo.

32 Traed pues á la memoria los primeros dias, en los cuales despues de haber recibido la luz, sufristeis gran combate de aflicciones.

21 Ánd having a high priest over the house of God;

22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for he is faithful that promised;

24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.

28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:

29 Of how much sorer punishment,suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. 32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;

37 Porque aun un poquito de tiempo, y el que ha de venir, vendrá, y no tardará.

38 Y el justo vivirá por la fé, mas si alguno se apartare, mi alma no se complacerá en él.

39 Pero nosotros no somos de aquellos que nos apartamos para perdicion; sino de los que creen para salvacion del alma.

CAPITULO XI.

ES pues la fé la substancia de las

cosas que se esperan; la demostracion de las cosas que no se ven. 2 Porque por esta alcanzaron buen testimonio los antiguos.

3 Por la fé entendemos que los mundos fueron formados por la palabra de Dios, de modo que las cosas que se ven, no fueron hechas de cosas que aparecen.

4 Por la fé Abel ofreció á Dios mas excelente sacrificio que Cain: por el cual obtuvó testimonio de que erá justo, dando Dios testimonio de sus dones, y estando muerto aun habla por ella.

5 Por la fé fué transladado Enoc paraque no viese muerte, y no fué hallado, por cuanto Dios le había trasladado, porque antes que fuese

35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.

36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

CHAPTER XI.

OW faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his
