LUKE VI.

What is lawful on the sabbath-days? to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or 10 to kill? And looking round about upon them all, he said unto him; Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so ; and his hand was restored as the 11 other. And they were filled with madness, and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

Jesus knew their 23 eth he out devils. And he

them; Every kingdom divided against itself is brought

called them unto him, and said unto them in parables;| How can Satan cast out Sa

divided against itself, that

26 itself shall not stand. And 25 kingdom cannot stand; and

if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom 26 27 stand? And if I by Beelze

bub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them 27 out? Therefore they shall 28 be your judges. But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. 28 29 Or else, how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his 30 house. He that is not with me, is against me; and he that gathereth not with me,

if a house be divided against
itself, that house cannot

against himself, and be di-
vided, he cannot stand, but
hath an end. No man can
enter into a strong man's
house, and spoil his goods,
except he will first bind the
strong man; and then he
will spoil his house. Verily

I
say unto you, all sins shall
be forgiven unto the sons of
men, and the blasphemies
wherewith soever they shall
blaspheme; but he that shall
blaspheme against the Holy
Ghost hath never forgiveness,

And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him; but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

your sons cast them out? Therefore shall they be your 20 judges. But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you. 21 When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods 22 are in peace; but when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils. 23 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me, scattereth.

MATTHEW XII.

Either make the tree good, | 24 and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt; for the tree 34 is known by his fruit. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good 25 things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth 26 35 speaketh. A good man, out of the good treasure, bringeth forth good things; and an evil man, out of the evil treasure, bringeth forth evil 36 things. But I say unto you, 27 that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the 37 day of judgment. For by

thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying; Master, we would 39 see a sign from thee. But

he answered and said unto them; An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days

LUKE XI.

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith; I will return unto my house whence I came out. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in, and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him; Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. 28 But he said; Yea, rather blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say; This is an evil generation; they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas. For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation. The queen of the

The men of Nineveh shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it; because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and behold, a greater than Jonas 42 is here. The queen of the 32 south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it; for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a great-33 er than Solomon is here.

south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them; for she came from the utmost parts of the earth, to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, a greater than Solomon is here. The men of Nineveh shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it; for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and behold, a greater than Jonas is here. No man when he hath lighted a candle, putteth it into a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come. in may see the light. The light of the body is the eye; therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness. 35 Take heed therefore, that the light which is in thee be not darkness. If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and find- 34 44 eth none. Then he saith; I will return into my house, from whence I came out. And when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and 45 garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits, more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
