MATTHEW XXI.

mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?"

JOHN XII.

20 And there were certain Greeks among them that came up 21 to worship at the feast. The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethsaida of Galilee, and desired him, 22 saying; Sir, we would see Jesus. Philip cometh and telleth 23 Andrew; and again, Andrew and Philip tell Jesus. And

Jesus answered them, saying; The hour is come, that the 24 Son of man should be glorified. Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone; but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. 25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth 26 his life in this world, shall keep it unto life eternal. If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be; if any man serve me, him will my 27 Father honour. Now is my soul troubled; and what shall

I say? Father, save me from this hour? But for this 28 cause came I unto this hour. Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying; "I have 29 both glorified it, and will glorify it again." The people therefore that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered. 30 Others said; An angel spake to him. Jesus answered and said; This voice came not because of me, but for your 31 sakes. Now is the judgment of this world; now shall the 32 prince of this world be cast out. And I, if 33 from the earth, will draw all men unto me. 34 signifying what death he should die.

answered him; We have heard out of the law that Christ abideth for ever; and how sayest thou, the Son of man must 35 be lifted up? who is this Son of man? Then Jesus said unto them; Yet a little while is the light among you. Walk, while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you; for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth

JOHN XII.

36 While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

MARK XI.

And when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany, with the twelve.

JOHN XII.

But though he had done so many miracles before them, 38 yet they believed not on him; that the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake; "Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord 39 been revealed? Therefore they could not believe; be40 cause that Esaias said again; "He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and 41 I should heal them." These things said Esaias, when he 42 saw his glory, and spake of him. Nevertheless, among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put 43 out of the synagogue; for they loved the praise of men more 44 than the praise of God. Jesus cried, and said; He

that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that 45 sent me ; and he that seeth me, seeth him that sent me. 46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth 47 on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not, (for I came

Now in the morning, as 12 he returned into the city, he 19 hungered. And when he 13 saw a fig-tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only; and said unto it; Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig-tree withered

they were come from Bethany, he was hungry; and seeing a fig-tree afar off, having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon; and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of 14 figs was not yet. And he answered and said unto it; No man eat fruit hereafter for ever. disciples heard it. 15 And they come to Jerusalem; and he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple; and overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves; 16 and would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple. 17 And he taught, saying unto them; Is it not written; "My house shall be called, of all nations, the house of prayer? but ye have made it 18 a den of thieves." And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him; for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his 19 doctrine. And when even was come he went out of the city. I

answered and said unto them; Verily I say unto you, if ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig-tree, but also, if unto ye shall say unto this mountain; Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be 22 done. And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing ye shall receive,

shall say unto this mountain; Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have 24 whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them; and ye shall 25 receive them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any; that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you 26 your trespasses. But, if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses. And they come again to Jerusalem.
