O Lord, the desires and petitions of Thy servants, as may be most expedient for them, Granting us in this world knowledge of Thy truth, and in the world to come, life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father, &c. AMEN.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost, be with us all evermore. Amen.

THURSDAY MORNING.

O SAVIOUR of the world, Who by Thy cross and precious blood hast redeemed us, save us, and help us, we humbly beseech Thee, O Lord. AMEN.

GRANT, we beseech Thee, Almighty God, that we, who for our evil deeds do worthily deserve to be punished, by the comfort of Thy grace may mercifully be relieved; and grant, that neither the splendour of any thing that is great, nor the conceit of any thing that is good in

us, may withdraw our eyes from looking upon ourselves as sinful dust and ashes; but that according to the example of Thy dear Son our Saviour, we may press forward to the prize of the high calling that is before us, in faith and patience, humility and meekness, mortification and selfdenial, charity and constant perseverance unto the end; and all this for Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ's sake; to whom with Thee and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, world without end. AMEN.

O LORD, from whom all good things do come; grant to us Thy humble servants, that by Thy holy inspiration we may think those things that be good, and by Thy merciful guiding may perform the same; grant us grace to withstand the temptations of the world, the flesh, and the devil; and with pure hearts and minds to follow Thee the only God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

ALMIGHTY God, Who art a most strong tower to all them that put their trust in Thee, to Whom all things in heaven, in earth, and under the earth, do bow and

obey; be now and evermore our defence; and make us know and feel, that there is none other Name under heaven given to man, in Whom and through Whom we may receive health and salvation, but only the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

GRANT, O Lord, that in all our sufferings here upon earth for the testimony of Thy truth, we may stedfastly look up to heaven, and by faith behold the glory that shall be revealed; and, being filled with the Holy Ghost, may learn to love and bless our persecutors, by the example of Thy first martyr, St. Stephen, who prayed for his murderers to Thee, O blessed Jesus, who standest at the right hand of God to succour all those that suffer for Thee, our only Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

ALMIGHTY God, Who into the place of the traitor Judas, didst choose Thy faithful servant Matthias, to be of the number of the twelve Apostles; grant that Thy Church being alway preserved from false Apostles, may be ordered and guided by

faithful and true pastors; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O GOD, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, our only Saviour, the Prince of Peace; give us grace seriously to lay to heart the great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions. Take away all hatred and prejudice, and whatsoever else may hinder us from godly union and concord: that, as there is but one Body, and one Spirit, and one Hope of our Calling; one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God and Father of us all, so we may henceforth be all of one heart and of one soul, united in one holy bond of truth and peace, of faith and charity, and may with one mind, and one mouth glorify Thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

O ALMIGHTY God, Who alone canst order the unruly wills and affections of sinful men; Grant unto Thy people, that they may love the thing which Thou commandest, and desire that which Thou dost promise; that so, among the sundry and manifold changes of the world, our hearts may surely there be fixed, where true joys

E

are to be found; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen.

Our Father, &c. AMEN.

GOD the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Ghost, bless, preserve, and keep us; the Lord mercifully with His favour look upon us, and fill us with all spiritual benediction and grace; that we may so live in this life, that in the world to come we may have life everlasting. Amen.

THURSDAY EVENING.

OUR help is in the Name of the Lord; Answ. Who hath made heaven and earth.

Blessed be the Name of the Lord;
Answ. Henceforth world without end.
Lord, hear our prayers.

Ansn. And let our cry come unto Thee. O LORD, we beseech Thee, absolve Thy people from their offences; that through
