VISIONS A MODE OF DIVINE REVELATION. Num xii, 6. And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. 1 Sam. ill. 1. And the child Samuel ministered unto the LORD before Eli. And the word of the. LORD was precious in those days: there was no open vision. 2 Chron. xxvi, 5. And he Bought God in the days of Zech ariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper. Ps lxxxix. 19. When I say, My bed shall comfort me, my couch shall ease my complaint; Then thou scarest me with dreams, and terrifiest me through visions. Job xxxiii, 14-17. For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed: Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction. And the king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know the dream. Then spake the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, king, live for ever: tell thy servants the dream, and we will shew the interpretation. The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be mado a dunghill: But if Daniel iv, 6, 7. THE TRUE INTERPRETA TION FROM GOD. Daniel 1, 17. As for these four Oledge and skill in all learning and children, God gave them knowwisdom: aud Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. But at the last Daniel came in before me, (whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods,) and before him I told the dream, saying, O Belteshazzır, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereoi.
