COUNTRY. Exod. xxxiii, 3. flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.

REFLECTIONS UPON THE

CONQUEST.

Num. xxi, 29-31. Woe to thee, Joshua xxiii, 5. And the LORD Moab! thou art undone, O people your God, he shall expel them of Chemosh! he hath given his from before you, and drive them sons that escaped, and his daughfrom out of your sight; and ye ters, into captivity unto Sikon shall possess their land, as the king of the Amorites. We have LORD your God hath promised un-shot at them; Heshbon is perished to you.

Joshua xxiv, 8. And I brought you into the land of the Amorites, which dwelt on the other side Jordan; and they fought with you: and I gave them into your hand, that ye might possess their land; and I destroyed them from

before you.

1 Kings xxi, 26. And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

Deut. iv, 37, 38. And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and

brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt; To drive out nations from before thee, greater and mightier than thee their land for an inheritance, thou art, to bring thee in, to give as it is this day.
