B.F. Westcott (1825-1901) was Regius Professor of Divinity at Cambridge and later consecrated Bishop of Durham. He is regarded one of the most significant biblical scholars of the nineteenth century. Known primarily for his contribution to the Westcott-Hort Greek text of the New Testament, Westcott wrote a number of biblical commentaries and sermon collections.
