OFFERINGS AND ASSESSMENTS

REQUIRED OR RECOMMENDED BY THE CONVENTION

Aged and Infirm Clergy Fund.-Annual Collection required by Canon VIII., to be sent to Mr. Benjamin R. English, Treasurer, New Haven, Conn.

American Church Building Fund. - The Convention of 1887 recommended annual contributions from every congregation, to be sent to Mr. George C. Thomas, Treasurer, 281 Fourth Avenue, New York.

Bishop's Fund.-For the support of the Bishop Coadjutor, an Assessment is required from every Parish, the basis being the amount reported for the preceding year for Current Expenses, including salaries, and the percentage to be fixed by the Committee on Finance. (See Canon II., Section 6, and Resolutions on page 61.) Offerings are also desired to increase the permanent "Fund for the Support of the Bishop." Mr. Jacob L. Greene, Treasurer, Hartford, Conn.

Church Scholarship Society.-Annual Collection required by Canon VIII., to be sent to the Rev. Cornelius G. Bristol, Treasurer, Hartford, Conn.

Clergyman's Retiring Fund.—Annual Assessment required by Canon XI. from every Parish, to be sent before June 1st to Mr. Benjamin R. English, Treasurer, New Haven, Conn. The Committee on Finance has been authorized to fix the percentage of this Assessment on the new basis adopted in Canon II., Section 6. (See pages 63 and 72.)

Convention Fund.-Annual Assessment required by Canon III. from every Parish, to be sent to Mr. Frederick J. Kingsbury, LL.D., Treasurer, Waterbury, Conn. The Committee on Finance has been authorized to fix the percentage of this Assessment on the new basis adopted in Canon II., Section 6. (See pages 63 and 72.)

Diocesan Missions.-Two Collections annually required by Canon VIII. The amount expected of each Parish is apportioned by the Archdeaconry, and is to be sent to its Treasurer.

General Clergy Relief. To aid the general Fund for Relief of Widows and Orphans of Deceased Clergymen, and of Aged, Infirm and Disabled Clergymen," the Convention of 1882 recommended Rectors to set aside some part of the Communion Alms or other charitable offerings, to be sent to Mr. W. Alexander Smith, Treasurer, No. 11 Wall Street, New York.
