It is very desirable, not only that forms of devotion should be written with due regard to method in passing from one subject to another; but also that the method of them should be easily seen and followed. Unless care is taken, that the persons who are present at our family prayers may understand in
an obvious manner when one act of worship ends and another begins, it is hardly possible that they can pray with the clear understanding and just feelings, which every Christian is anxious to cultivate and cherish by all means both in himself and in others. The following Forms of Prayer are specially intended to promote this good purpose;
