7. Då fade JEsus till honom: Det år ock sfriswit: HERran din Gud sfall du ice fresta.

8. Då tog åter djefulen honom med sig uppå ett ganska högt berg, och wiste honom alla riken i werlden, och deras hårlighet,

9. Och fade till honom: Alt detta will jag giswa dig, om du faller ned, och tillbeder mig.

10. Då fade JEsus till honom : Gad bort, Satan; th det år skrifmit: HEЯran din Gud skall du tillbedja, och honom allena skall du tjena.

11. Då öfwergaf djefwulen honom, och si, Änglarne gingo fram, och tjente honom.

12. Då nu JEsus hörde, att Johannes war fången, drog han in i Galileen;

13. Och öfwergaf Nazaret, och kom och bodde i Capernaum, som ligger wid hafwet, på grånsen wid Zabulon och Nephthalim:

14. På det att fullkomnas skulle, det fom fagdt war genom Efaia Propheten, som sade:

15. Det landet Zabulon, och det landet Nephthalim, wid haswets wåg, på denna sidan Jordan, och den hednisfa Galileen :

16. Folket, som satt i mörkret, hafwer sett ett stort ljus; och dem, som bodde i dödsens engd och skugga, år ett ljus uppgångit.

17. Jfrån den tiden begynte JEsus till att predifa, och sade: Görer båtiring himmelriket år kommit hardt når.

18. Når JEsus gick utmed det Galileesta haswet, såg han twå bröder, Simon, som kallas Petrus, och Andreas hans broder, de kastade sina nåt i haswet; ty de woro fisfäre.

19. Och han fade till dem: Följer

they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee ;

13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:

14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,

15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;

16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.

17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

18 ¶ And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea for they were fishers.

19 And he saith unto them, Fol

23. Och JEsus giď omkring alt Galileesta landet, och lårde i deras Syna gogor, och predifade Evangelium om rifet, och botade allahanda sjukdom, och krankhet i folket.

24. Och hans rykte gick öfwer hela Shrien; och de hade till honom alla de der franke woro af mångahanda sjukdom, och wårfbrutna, och besatta, och månaderasande, och borttagna: och han gjorde deyi alla helbregda.

25. Och honom följde mycket folk utaf Galileen, och utaf de tio ståder, och utaf Jerusalem, och utaf_Judeen, och utaf de land på denna sidan wid Jordan.

5. Capitel.

Når han såg folket, steg han uppå stg, gingo hans Lårjungar fram till honom.

2. Då öppnade han sin mun, lårde dem och sade:

3. Salige åro de, som åro andelige fattige; th himmelriket hörer dem till. 4. Salige åro de bedröfwade; th de stola få hugswalelse.

5. Salige åro de saktmodige; th de ffola besitta jorden.

6. Salige åro de, som hungra och törsta efter råttfärdigheten; th de ffola blifwa måttade.

7. Salige åro de barmhertige; th dem stall ste barmhertighet.

21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.

22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.

25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judea, and from beyond Jordan.

CHAPTER V.

AND seeing the multitudes, he when he was set, his disciples came

unto him:

2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,

3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

8. Salige åro de renhjertade; th de skola se Gud.

12. Glådjens och fröjder eder, th eder lön år stor i himmelen I förth, de hafwa sammalunda förföljt Propheterna, som haswa warit för eder.

13. I åren jordens salt; år det så, att fattet mister sin såltá, hwarmed skall man då salta? Till intet mer år det nyttigt, utan att man kastar det ut, och låter det trampas af mennisforna.

14. I åren werldens ljus: icke kan den staden döljas, som ligger på ett berg.

15. Jde tånder man heller ljus, och fåtter det under en steppa, utan på en ljusastaka; att det lyser alla dem, som i huset åró.

16. Så låter edert ljus lhsa för menniskorna, att de måga se edra goda gerningar, och prisa eder Fader, som år i himmelen.

17. I stolen ice mena, att jag år kommen till att upplossa lagen, eller Propheterna: jag år icke kommen till att upplossa, utan till att fullborda. 18. Th jag fåger eder för sant, till des att himmel och jord förgås warder ej förgången den minste bokstafwen, ice heller en prick af lagen, förr ån det år alt sfedt.

19. Derföre, hwilken som upplossar ett af dessa minsta buden, och lårer så menniskorna han skall kallas den minste i himmelriket; men hwilken fom det gör, och lårer, han skall kallas stor i himmelriket.

20. Th jag fåger eder, att utan eder råttfärdighet öftergår de Skriftlårdas,

10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad : for great is your reward in heaven : for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot

be hid.

15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall ex

21 ¶ Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judg ment:

25. Du skall wara din tråtobroder benågen till wånskap snart, medan du ännu år med honom på wågen; att din tråtobroder antwardar dig ice domarenom, och domaren antwar dar dig tjenarenoni, och du fastas så i hättelse.

26. Sannerligen, såger jag dig: Du warder der icke utkommande, till des du hafwer betalat den yttersta skårfwen.

27. I hafwen hört, att det war sagdt dem gamlom: Du skall ice göra hor.

28. Men jag fåger eder: Hwilken som ser på en qwinna, till att begåra henne, han hafwer allaredan gjort hor med henne i sitt hjerta.

29. Om så år, att ditt högra öga år dig till förargelse, så rif det ut, och fastat ifrån dig: det år dig båttre, att en din ledamot förderfwas, ån att din hela fropp skulle fastas till helfwetes.

of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. 23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath aught against thee;

24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, while thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

29 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

39. Men jag fåger eder, att I skolen ice stå det onda emot; utan år det så, att någon slår dig wid det högra findbenet, så månd honom oc bet

33 ¶ Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:

34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:

35 Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

36 Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

38 ¶ Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

39 But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.

41 And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.

42 Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

43 ¶ Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your
