Whene'er I read my title clear
When gathering clouds around I view
When Israel by divine command
When marshall'd on the nightly plain
When wealth hastes away
When high the heavenly temple stands
When this passing world is done
Why those fears? behold 'tis Jesus
With heaven in view we tread the path
With Jesus in our midst
With joy we meditate the grace
With thankful hearts we meet. O Lord
Would we view God's brightest glory
Worthy the Lamb for sinners slain
1 GLORY, glory everlasting,
Be to Him Who bore the cross,
Who redeem'd our souls by tasting
Death, the death deserved by us!
Spread His glory
Who redeem'd His people thus.
2 His is love, 'tis love unbounded,
Without measure, without end;
Human thought is here confounded;
'Tis too vast to comprehend:
Praise the Saviour!
Magnify the sinners' friend.
3 While we tell the wondrous story
Of the Saviour's cross and shame,
Sing we—" Everlasting glory
Be to God and to the Lamb."
Saints and angels,
Give ye glory to His name.
1 Lo! He comes, with clouds descending, Once for favor'd sinners slain ! Thousand thousand saints attending, Swell the triumph of His train! Hallelujah!
Jesus comes, and comes to reign!
2 Now redemption, long expected,
See in solemn pomp appear!
All His saints, by man rejected,
Rise to meet Him in the air.

See the day of God appear!
3 Israel, too, shall now behold Him,
Full of grace and majesty,
Tho' they set at nought and sold Him.

1 WE'LL sing of the Shepherd that died,
That died for the sake of the flock;
His love to the utmost was tried,
But firmly endured as a rock.
2 When blood from a victim must flow
This Shepherd, by pity, was led
To stand between us and the foe,
And willingly died in our stead.
3 Our song then for ever shall be,
Of the Shepherd who gave Himself thus; No subject 's so glorious as He,
No theme 's so affecting to us.
4 We 'll sing of such subjects alone,
None other our tongues shall employ ; Till better His love becomes known, In yonder bright regions of joy.
1 "ABBA," Father, Lord! we call Thee,
(Hallowed name !) from day to day ;-
Tis Thy children's right to know Thee,
None but children, "Abba," say.
This high glory we inherit,
Thy free gift, through Jesus' blood;
God the Spirit, with our spirit,
Witnesseth we 're sons of God.
2 Abba's purpose gave us being,
When in Christ, in that vast plan,
Abba chose the church in Jesus,
Long before the world began;
O what love the Father bore us!
O how precious in His sight!-
When He gave His church to Jesus!
Jesus, His whole soul's delight!
3 Though our nature's fall in Adam
Seem'd to shut us out from God,
Thus it was His counsel brought us
Nearer still, thro' Jesus' blood;
For in Him we found redemption,
Grace and glory in the Son.
O the height and depth of mercy!

With the Holy Spirit's power,
Safe to lead His children on.
"Abba," Father, makes all certain,
E'en by word, and oath, and biood ;-
Abba saith, "They are My children,"
And they say, "Our Abba 's GOD."
2 Hence, through all the changing seasons,
Trouble, sorrow, sickness, woe,
Nothing changeth God's affection,
Abba's love shall bring us through.
Soon shall all the blood-bought children,
Round the throne their anthems raise;
And, in songs of rich salvation,
Shout to Abba endless praise.
"Abba," Father! Lord, we 'll call Thee,
Abba 'Il sound through all the host;
All in heav'n and earth adoring,
Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!
