My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed, and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, GoD is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward GOD. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight. And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son JESUS CHRIST, and love one another, as he gave us conmandment. And he that keepeth his commandments, dwelleth in him, and he in him and hereby we know, that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

The Epistle. 1 St. Peter v. 5.

ALL of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for GOD resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of GOD, that he may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist, steadfast in the faith; knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the GOD of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by CHRIST JESUS, after that ye have suffered awhile, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

A CERTAIN man made a great supper, and bade many; and sent his servant at supper-time, to say to them that were bidden, Come, for all things are now ready. And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it; I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them; I pray thee have me excused. And another said, I The Gospel. The Epistle. Rom. viii. 12. BRETHREN, we are debtors not to the flesh, to live after the flesh: for if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if ye through the SPIRIT do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the SPIRIT OF GOD, they are the sons of GOD. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The SPIRIT itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of GOD. And if children, then heirs; heirs of GOD, and joint heirs with CHRIST: if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.

The Epistle. 1 Cor. x. 1. BRETHREN, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; and were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud, and in the sea; and did all eat the same spiritual meat, and did all drink the same spiritual drink; (for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them; and that Rock was CHRIST.)
