a right judgment in all things, and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour, who liveth and reigneth with thee, in the unity of the same Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen.

Collect for Preservation.

WE beseech thee Almighty God, mercifully to look upon thy people; that by thy great goodness we [and all who are dear to us] may be governed and preserved [this night] and evermore, both in body and soul; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

After which the following.

GRANT, we beseech thee, Almighty God, that the words, which we have heard this day with our outward ears, may through thy grace be so grafted inwardly in our hearts, that they may bring forth in us the fruit of good living, to the honour and praise of thy Name.

[Grant, Holy Jesus, that we, who have this day received thy precious Body and Blood veiled under the outward elements of Bread and lating to Wine, may hereafter behold thy Appendix, Part II. blessed face revealed in heaven, and eat and drink with thy Holy Angels and Saints in their mansions of bliss.]

Let thy fatherly hand, we beseech thee, O God, ever be over us; let thy Holy Spirit ever be with us; and so lead us in the knowledge and obedience of thy Word, that in the end we may obtain everlasting life; through our Lord Jesus Christ, who

with thee and the Holy Ghost liveth and reigneth, ever one God, world without end.

For Unity.

Amen.

HOLY Jesus, King of the saints and Prince of the holy Catholic Church; preserve thy spouse, which thou hast purchased with thy right hand, and redeemed and cleansed with thy blood, even the whole Catholic Church from one end of

the earth even to the other. O preserve her safe from schism, heresy, and sacrilege. Unite all her members with the bands of faith, hope, and charity, and an external communion, when it shall seem good in thine eyes. Let her daily sacrifice of prayer and praise, and of sacramental thanksgiving, never cease; but be for ever presented unto thee, and for ever united to the intercession of her dearest Lord, and for ever prevail for the obtaining for every one of her members grace and blessing, pardon and salvation. Amen.

THANKSGIVINGS.

Let us give thanks unto the Lord:
And forget not all his benefits.

Let us praise the name of our God: And magnify him with thanksgiving. ALMIGHTY God, and heavenly Father, who, of thine infinite love and goodness towards us, hast given to us thy only and most dearly beloved Son Jesus Christ, to be our Redeemer, and the Author of everlasting life; who, after he had made perfect our redemption by his death, and was ascended into heaven, sent abroad into the world his Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers,

and Pastors; by whose labour and ministry he gathered together a great flock in all the parts of the world, to set forth the eternal praise of thy holy Name: For these so great benefits of thy eternal goodness, and for that thou hast vouchsafed to call many of thy servants to the same Office and Ministry appointed for the salvation of mankind, we render unto thee most hearty thanks, we praise and worship thee; [and more These words to be especially we give thee thanks, added on Communion O Christ, whom thou hast vouchsafed this day to make partakers of thy body and blood for the remission of our sins and for eternal life;] and we humbly beseech thee, by the same thy blessed Son, to grant unto all, which either here or elsewhere call upon thy holy Name, that we may continue to shew ourselves thankful unto thee for these and all other thy benefits; and that we may daily increase and go forward in the knowledge and faith of thee and thy Son, by the Holy Spirit. So that as well by those thy Ministers [more especially in this place], as by them over whom they are appointed, thy holy Name may be for ever glorified, and thy blessed kingdom enlarged; through the same thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee in the unity of the same Holy Spirit, world without end. Amen. Glory be to thee, O Lord.

Then on Communion Sundays may be said the Proper Preface if any for the Day (see Prayers for "the Seasons," Part II.), followed by "the Gloria in Excelsis," or one of the Doxologies from the Eucharistic Prayers (see Appendix, Part II.) Or on ordinary Sundays the following, to be said by all.

NOT unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name be ascribed all Honour and Glory, and Praise, with most humble and hearty thanks, in all Churches of the Saints. Even so, blessed be the Lord our God, through Jesus Christ our Lord and only Saviour. Amen.

The Benedictory Prayer.

THE grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost, be with us all evermore.

Amen.

Morning Prayer.

The Master of the Family may begin by reading one or more of the following Sentences, adding any proper for the Day from Part II.

AY not up for yourselves treasure upon the earth; where the moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven; where neither rust nor moth doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through and steal. S. Matth. vi.

The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing: but in every thing, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Phil. iv.

Let us walk honestly as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof. Rom. xiii.
