'o talk to Jesus as a loving Friend,

То

Upon whose faithfulness we can depend;
To pour out all our wants, and every care-
This is indeed true, earnest, heartfelt prayer.

Thy golden promises, so rich and sweet,
Invite Thy children to the mercy-seat;
There, in Thy boundless love, so full and free,
Thou bidst the needy sinner come to Thee.

Jesus, we thank Thee for Thy loving care,
Which gives us all the privilege of prayer;
Oh! may we live to feel that Thou art nigh,
Waiting to hear us, and our wants supply.
