When Vera Richardson opposed the discriminatory behavior of a correctional sergeant she had no idea that her complaints would result in a four year pro-se Title VII battle with Eliot Spitzer's staff at the New York State Attorney General's Office, an appeal to the United States Supreme Court, and the discovery of her divine purpose. Eliot Spitzer is currently the governor of New York. Governor Spitzer was the Attorney General of New York State when a member of his staff, Mike Russo, Assistant NYS Attorney General, filed seven perjured declarations in federal court. The declarations were filed to prevent a jury from ruling on the case. Richardson's memoir does not serve simply as evidence of discrimination in America and the unfairness in a civil court case; it offers the reader the chance to debate and decide a real case of employment discrimination based on direct evidence, the law, and the facts.
