PRAYERS.

With reference to bodily and spiritual wants.

Reader.

Remember, we beseech Thee, the covenant made with our forefathers, and cause the earth to bring forth in a sufficient degree its wholesome fruits, the tokens of thy faithfulness and bounty, nor suffer any destructive event to render them unprofitable to us: and grant that we, receiving thy liberality, may use the same to thy glory, the relief of those that are needy, and our own comfort.

Reader and Congregation.

We beseech Thee to hear us, good Lord.

Reader.

Search us, O Lord, and know our hearts, try us and know our thoughts, and see if there be any wicked way in us, and lead us in the way everlasting. To those who are truly penitent grant forgiveness of all their deliberate offences against Thee, of all their thoughtless neglect of duty and of all their avoidable ignorance. Whatever we may appear in the sight of men, we all transgress thy holy commandments. Grant to us, we beseech Thee, the aid of thy Holy Spirit, that we may conform our lives in a greater degree than we have hitherto done, to thy law. It is thy will which we would in all things consult. Let us think upon

Reader and Congregation.

We beseech Thee to hear us, good Lord.

Son of God, to whom all power in heaven and earth has been given, we beseech Thee to hear us.
