AND by G. AND c. CARwill AND Co., New York; oths, BROADERS AND Co., Boston;
N. HickMAN, BALTIMORE.

1839.

NO. 200.

THE Number of the Museum which closes this Volume, is the Two Hundredth. We have frequent calls for complete sets, but have not one for sale. Its value increases as it grows older, and we are confident that in no other work can be found so good a view of the literature of the last twenty years. We are frequently asked whether it would not do to print a new edition of the early volumes, and at some future time may perhaps issue proposals to that effect.

We are thanksul for the good opinion which is universally entertained of our Magazine, although we can appropriate very little credit to ourselves, who are mere reapers in other men's fields. We have from year to year enlarged our plan, and still see how considerable improvement can be made. To enable us to do this, we respectfully ask a continuance and increase of the patronage of the public. Our circulation is large, but not as yet large enough to enable us to make the Museum all that we could wish it.
