Muses, redis-moi ces noms alors connus : qui le premier, qui le dernier se réveilla du sommeil sur ce lit de feu, à l'appel de leur grand Empereur; quels chefs, les plus près de lui en mérites, vinrent un à un où il se tenait sur le rivage chauve, tandis que la foule, pêle mêle, se tenait encore au loin?
