The Hoover Dam is still the highest concrete dam in the Western Hemisphere. Between 1939 and 1949, it was the world's largest hydropower installation. Even today, it produces more than fourØbillion kilowatt-hours of electricity each year, making it one of the largest hydropower installations in the United States.
