ment, and perfect Unity, there will be in the Saints unto Christ (his Laws, Rules, Ordinances, and Government) aud to one another, is fignified; a perfect Conformity to Christ, and an Uniformity among themselves : There will be then no Diffe rences about Forms, as now; but a hearty and Soul Agreement in all the Children of God, as to that Form of Government that they then shall be under.

6thly, The Materials of the Wall are said to be of Faspar, a precious Stone of a Green Colour, with fome Red Veins in it, and of an excellent Nature. From whence we may observe if the Buildings of the Walls, and outward Materials of the City, be so glorious; how much more glorious must the City and inward Furniture thereof be? Tea, the City is of pure Gold, like unto clear Glass : Such Gold as this World never could afford, for the Brightness, Excellency and Duration of it. The Gold that this City is built with, is so bright, as that the Saints will see the comfortable Face of God continually shine upon them, thro' it, or thro' the Blessed Mediator, for ever : They shall see into the deep things of God, yea all the Mysteries of the Kingdom.

thly, The Foundations of the Walls of the City were garnished with all manner of Precious Stones ; and these are distinguished into Twelve Sorts, each one of a precious excellent Nature, which are the Twelve Foundations of the Wall, to thew how strong, safe, and secure this City is: And in them them the Names of the Twelve Apostles; not only to fignifie the Interest and Property they had in the Priviledges of this glorious City; but all the Saints that have believed, and received Chrift, and laid

* 8thly, The Streets of the City are pure Gold, as it
were transparent Glass. Such a City has never yet
been seen in this World; but certainly such a City
as glcrious as is here described, shall be upon this
Earth ; because it is said to come down from God
out of Heaven. · Now if the Streets of this City are
to be pure Gold, of such a pure, bright, and excel-
lent Nature, as it were transparent Glass : Sure,
then this can mean no other but the Beatifick Vic
Sion, which the Saints will have at this time, of
God and Christ, with the glorious Angels, and one
another: Yea, all those Mysteries that are to be
seen, known, and understood by the Saints, con-
cerning God, Christ, and the Spirit, with all the
Glory of Heaven, will reflect and shine forth upon
all these glorious Inhabitants, from the golden
Street of this blessed City, which will always ap-
pear bright as transparent Glass unto them. O
what glorious Walks will the Saints have in these
golden Streets of the New Fernalem, when they
Thall walk with Honour, Pleasure, Delight, and
eternal Satisfaction, from the satisfying Objects
which will be always presented before them! ?

9thly, And I saw no Temple in it; that is, no material Temple, built with Hands or 'humant Power: Such a Place will be too low for the Saints in that Day: But instead hereof, 'the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the Temple of it: That is Gol in Chrif, or God in our Nature. - This is the Place where the Saints fall meet, fee, enjoy, and have Communion with God, in the greatest Nearners that possibly they can enjoy the Fountain of Eternal Deity in.

G : 10thly, Tathly, This glorious City has no need of the Sun; and it is certain it will have no need of the Moon because there will be no Night, but always as a bright eternal Day. The Reason is render'd ; for the Glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb iş the Light thereof: Yet I do not understand by this as if those two great Lights now so useful, fhould be annihilated; but it is to shew us that God in Christ will be such a Fountain of eternal Light, Love, Grace, and Glory, unto all those blessed Inhabitants, as will dazzle or put out all created Lights or Creature Enjoyments whatsoever. Natural Light is sweet to the Body and Mind now ; It is pleasant for the Eyes to behold the Sun. Spiritual Light is sweet and pleasant to the Soul. But

what will this Light be to the Souls and Bodies of the Saints, in that perfect State, when God and Christ, or God in Christ, will be an immediate Light of Fruition and Enjoyment by Vision, for ever. ;

I am very sensible that some of God's Children, which have no Light into this blessed Kingdom of Christ, will expound all these Texts of Scripture unto the ultimate Glory of the eternal Heavens ; But let us take notice of what follows, and I think we may fee enough to the contrary; and that is in the 24th Verse ; And the Nations of them that are faved, shall walk in the Light of it, and the Kings of the Earth do bring their Glory and Honour into it, . By the Nations of them which are saved, I underItand to be the Elect of God, gathered out of all Nations and Kingdoms of the World: Yea, all the Inhabitants of the New Ferusalem shall walk in an the Light of that Glory, which will continually

fine forth from the Throne of God and the Lamb, upon this blessed City. By the Kings of the Earth that do bring their Glory and Honour into it, I do humbly conceive that to be spoke prophetically of those Kings who shall be converted in that Day unto Jesus Chrift; and therefore they shall then bring their Glory and Honour into this City, and lay it down, as it were, at the Feet of Christ, that the Crown may be set upon his Head ; they being now made Kings unto God, in a nearer and higher relation than they were before. Verse 26. And they jhall bring the Glory and Honour of the Nations into it : That is, the Saved Ones ont of the Nations, whether Kings of tbe Earth, or others, shall bring their Glory, or the Glory and Honour of the Nations from whence they come, with all that is near and dear to them, into this City.'."

Now, then, if this be so, this cannot be understood of the Ultimate Heaven.' It is certain that no Kings of the Earth, nor any other Person neither, shall or can bring their Glory and Honour into that Place: The Glory and Honour of the Nations cannot be brought into Heaven: I think there is none that will, or dare to say so. Then this glorious State fpoke of in this 21st of Revelations, with many other places, must be a State upon this Earth. If these things be but duely confider'd, I hope it may a little cool that Heat which does appear in the Spirits of fome, against Christ's having Vifible Kingdom in this Worl].

Yet this Glory, that the Kings of the Earth, with the Glory and Honour of the Nations, which they bring into this blessed City, will not be out of any Need or Necessity; for if there was no need of the

Glory of the Sun nor the Moon, it is certain there will be no need of the Glory of this world to be. brought into it. But upon the First Branch of Christ's Kingdom, which will appear in the Destiu{tion of Aniichrif, the Pouring down of the Spirit, the Conversion and Reunion of the Jews and Gentiles, and the bringing of them into their own Land, as the Scripture speaketh; then it is, as I humbly conceive, that these words will be fulfilled; then those Kings and Great Men of the Nations, whole Hearts the Lord shall touch by the Power of his Grace; as without doubt föme such. shall be converted in that great Day, will fhew. and make manifest their Love unto the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Saints, by offering up themselves, with what they have, yea, and all that is near and dear to them, to be the Lord's for ever. And then it is that they shall bring their Glory and Honour into it ; that is, into Ferufalem, where the People of God, both of Fews and Gentiles, shall be gathered together; which will be the Metropolitan City. of the whole world. So that the Glory which the Kings of the Earth, with the Glory of the Nations, do bring, or in that Day Jhall bring into this City, will be in the ift Branch of Christ's Kingdom, or upon the first Breaking forth of that Spiritual Glozy: Eut will not attain unto its full Heighth and Grandeur, until Christ's personal Coming from Heaven, with all the Saints: Which Time the principal Glory spoke of in this Chapter, hath a peculiar relation unto.

I have been longer upon the 21st of Revelations, than I designed ; and that, because I apprehend the Glory spoke of in this place has a respect unto, if
