that day: There will be Multitudes of them gathered out of many Nations, fleeing as a Cloud, and flocking as Doves, unto the Church of God. Again, fee how this agrees with fer. xxxi, beginning at the Sixth Verfe; For there fhall be a Day (this will be the Day of the Spirit's Pouring down) that the Watchmen upon the Mount Ephraim fall cry (this refpects the Jews; for there will be flocking in unto Fefus Chrift of both Arife ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the Lord our God, who then will confpicuously manifeft his Glory in the midft of her. Verfe 7. For thus faith the Lord, Sing with Gladnefs for Facob, and fhout among the Chief of the Nations: Publifh ye, praise ye, and fay, O Lord fave thy People, the Remnant of Ifrael. Sure they, and only they have caufe to fing, whom the Lord bids to fing And oh how will the Saints all of them fing for Gladness of Heart, that Jacob or Ifrael is returned again, and that the Lord will fave a Remnant, and a glorious Remnant too, from amongft the ancient People the Jews. For this Song of their Converfion will be fung among the Chief of the Nations, that is the Saints, who will then be the Head and not the Tail But it is the eighth Verfe that I principally bring this for. Behold I will bring them from the North Country (tho' they lie never fo far at a distance) and will gather them from the Coafts of the Earth and with them the Blind and the Lame, the Woman with Child and her that travelleth with Child together: A great Company shall return 'bither Here we read of a great Company that fhall return. Now where fhall they return but unto Telus Chrift? And what a Company fhall this be? Why fome of them the Poor, Blind and Lame,

Lame, with the Woman with Child and her that travailleth with Child together. From whence we may obferve, Firft, That the Lord is no Refpecter of Perfous, but will call the Poor and Weak, as well as the Strong and Mighty. Secondly, That there is no Weakness, Imperfection, nor Deficiency in us, fhall hinder our being called or brought home to Chrift, when Grace begins to lay hold on our Hearts. Thirdly, This further fhews what poor, weak, and helplefs Creatures we are, and those that the Lord in that day fhall call will be, until he is pleased to put Light, Life, and Strength into them. Again, fourthly, This does inform us that all thofe who have been, are, or in that day fhall be called, are faved by pure, free, rich, and foveraign Grace. Well! Such as thefe will the Lord bring, ver. 9. and with Weeping and Supplication will he lead them. This Weeping will not be out of fear of Wrath, but from a Senfe of Love and Goodnefs, which at that time shall be manifefted unto them, notwithstanding their Unworthiness. But this is not all, for thefe the Lord will cause to walk by the Rivers of Water; wherewith their Souls fhall be continually refreshed: And will lead them in a ftrait Way, wherein they fhall not fumble here can be no Danger of falling, fo long as the Lord holds us by the hand. Now the Reafon why God takes fuch care of his People is rendered in these Words, Because I am a Father to Ifrael, and Ephraim is my Firft-born. From hence I do obferve that whatever the Lord hath done, doth, or hath promifed to do for any of his Children, flows from his fatherly Love which he hath to them, and his tender Care that he hath over them. Then it follow

eth in Verfe 10. Therefore bear the Word of the Lord Oye Nations, and declare it in the Ifles afar off, and fay that he which fcattered Ifrael will gather him, and keep him as a Shepherd doth his Flock. This is to be declared inthe Nations, and the Ifles afar off, that tho' the Lord did fcatter, or fuffer his People to be fcattered; yet he ftands in the relation to them, as the good Shepherd of the Shee,. It is upon this account that the Lord will gather him, keep him, and lead him, as a Shepherd doth his Flock; becaufe he hath an Intereft in them, and a Propriety to them. Thirdly, A third Reafon is in Verfe 11. For the Lord bath redeemed Jacob, and ransomed him from the Hand of him that was ftronger than be. To fhew that the Lord Jefus Chrift hath not only redeemed this great Company (which he hath and will yet gather) by the Price of his own Blood in fatisfying theJuftice of hisFather; but he hath ranfomed them by the Glory of his divine Power, from the hand of wicked Men and Devils too, which indeed may be faid to be ftronger than we. So that it is impoffible for any of thefe to perish. But

To proceed toVer. 12.They all come and fing inthe Heighth of Zion, and fall flow together to the Godnefs of the Lord, for Wheat, and for Wine, and forOil, and for the Toung of the Flock, and of the Herd, and their Souls fhall be as a watered Garden, and they shall forrow no more at all. Owhat a Text is this for the Proof as well as the manner of Chrift's Kingdom! They fhall come, that is, all the Saints, and fing in the Heighth of Zion. By the Heighth of Zion I understand Chrift may be understood; for as Zion doth refpect the Church of God, fo Chrift, who is the Head of the Church, may be faid to be the Heighth

Heighth of Zion. It is in Chrift that the Saints now do, and hereafter fhall fing, in the Admiration of eternal Love and boundlefs Grace. But thefe Words have a peculiar relation to the Glory of the Latter Day, and fo it may be taken for Zion the Church of God, when the fhall be advanced in her exalted State, for then they fhall fing the Song of Mofes and the Lamb, which will comprehend the Praises of God, both for temporal, fpiritual, and eternal Bleffing. Then they fhall flow together unto the Goodness of the Lord. Oh how will the Goodness of Jehovah flow in upon the Saints! When the Fountains of the Eternal Deep fhall be broken up unto them, here will be the Fineft of the Wheat, that Feaft of Marrow and Fatnefs, with Wines on the Lees well refined. Befides an infinite Store of good Olive Oil, or the Graces of the New Covenant, which will continually be flowing down upon them, from the Two Olive-Branches, or the Union of the two Natures Divine and Humane in the Blessed Perfon of the Mediator, which through the golden Pipes of the Old and New Teftament together with all the Ordinances of Chrift, do empty the golden Oil out of themfelves, for to fupply and fill the Hearts of the Saints. Zech. iv. 2, 3. Then the pure Virgin fhall rejoice in the Dance,

their Mour? Men and Old toge her: For I will turn

into Foy, will comfort them. This is a gracious Promife unto the Children of God; if the Lord will give them Comfort, who then fhall give them Trouble? For Iwill make them rejoice from their Sorrows, and I will fatiate the Soul of the Priest with Fatnefs, and my People shall be fatisfied with my Goodness, faith the Lord. Ver. 13, 14.

The

The Goodness of the Lord Jefus will at this time extend it self like a River, which will abundantly fatisfie both the Prieft and the souls of all his People with Fatness.

Well then! This doth inform us that there will be a wonderful Flocking, both of Jews and Gentiles unto Jefus Chrift, in that great Day of the Spirit, when they fhall flee as a Cloud, an:l as Doves to the Windows. This may be further proved out of Rev. 7. where we read of the Sealing of twelve thousand of every Tribe; and in the 9th Verfe; After this I bebeld and lo a great Multitude, which no Man could number, of all Natious (pray mind that) and Kindreds and People, and Tongues, food before the Throne, and before the Lamb, cloathed with White Robes, and Palms in their Hands. After the Converfion of the Jews is fet forth by the Sealing of twelve thousand of every Tribe, there will be fuch a wonderful Converfion among the Gentiles, yea fuch a Flocking of all Nations, Kindreds, People, and Tongues, as will appear to be numberless,or at leaft no Man could number them.

To this agrees what the Prophet Ezekiel fpeaketh of concerning the Waters of the Sanctuary, in Chap. xlvii. which proceeded from under the right Side of the Houfe, at the South Side of the Altar, ver. 1. Thefe Waters I humbly conceive do figure out the plentiful Effufion of the Spirit of God upon his People in the Latter Days, which will fo wonderfully increase, as to rise up from the Ancles unto the Knees, and from the Knees to the Loins; until it becomes a great River, a River to fwim in, a River that cannot be paffed over; as it is in the 4th and 5th Verfes. Then the Saints fhall wade, and not only
