Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art, in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:

I in them, and thou in me, that they may • be made perfect in one; and that the world

may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them as thou hast loved me.

Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am ; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world."

O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it ; that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

CHAPTER CXVI.

Jesus suffers in the garden. When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook

Cedron,' where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.

And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy;

And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death : tarry ye here, and watch

: And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down and prayed.

Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me : nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth-them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What! could ye not watch with me one hour? 1. Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
