God complains that they do not call upon him.

xxiii 14. Woe unto you hypocrites, for ye devour widow's houses, and for à pretence make long prayers.

God threatened that he will leave them to themselves, that he will not hear their prayers.
2 Chron. xv 21. The Lord is with you while ye be with him; and if ye seek him he will be found of you; if you forsake him he will cast you off forever,
