ALMIGHTY and Immortal God, the Aid of all that need, the Helper of all them that flee to Thee for succour, the Life of them that believe, and the Resurrection of the dead; we, Thy servants, most humbly beseech Thee to accept this our morning sacrifice of prayer and praise. Receive us, O Lord, as Thou hast promised by Thy wellbeloved Son, saying, Ask, and ye shall receive; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you; so give now unto us that ask; let us that seek, find; open the door unto us that knock; that we, Thy

servants, may enjoy the everlasting benediction of Thy heavenly grace, and may come to the eternal kingdom, which Thou hast promised through our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

O Lord God of our salvation, Who hast been exceeding gracious unto Thy servants, and by Thy merciful providence hast spared us in the midst of our sins to behold the light of another day; we are here before Thee, with all due thankfulness, to acknowledge Thine unspeakable goodness, and to offer our praises and thanksgivings for the same. seech Thee to give us such a lively and lasting sense of all Thy mercies, that we may never grow secure and careless in our obedience, by presuming upon Thy great and undeserved goodness; but that it may lead us to repentance, and move us to be the more diligent and zealous in all the duties of our holy religion.
