THE UNCLEAN SPIRIT.
LUKE xi. 24, &c. When the unclean Spirit is gone out of a Man,
he walketh through dry places, seeking rest: and finding none, he saith, I will return unto
house whence I came out. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other Spirits more wicked than himself: and they enter in, and dwell there : and the last state of that Man is worse than the first.
1. These are the words of Almighty Wisdom: the words of Him, who is “the Wisdom of God:” who spake as Man never spake: the words of that Christ whose Spirit searcheth all things, yea “the deep things of God:” who by His excellent Wisdom knoweth all things in heaven, in earth, in the sea, and in all deep places : who, when a Man on earth,
