For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom. viii. 38, 39.

II.-Of Happiness immediately after Death.

Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Psalm 1xxiii. 24.

There the wicked cease from troubling, and there the weary be at rest; there the prisoners rest together, they hear not the voice of the oppressor. Job iii. 17,18.

He shall enter into peace, they shall rest in their beds; each one walking in his uprightness. Isaiah lvii. 2.

Abraham said: Son, remember that thou in thy life-time receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazareth evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. Luke xvi. 25.

Jesus said unto him: Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with Me in paradise. Luke xxiii. 43.

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better. Phil. i. 21, 23.

We are always confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. 2 Cor. v. 8. And to the spirits of just men made perfect. Heb. xii. 23.

Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth; yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them. Rev. xiv. 13.

God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, for He shall receive me. Psalm xlix. 15. III.-A Glorious Resurrection.

If the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you. Rom. viii. II.

Though, after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God; whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another, though my reins be consumed within me.

Job xix. 26, 27.

Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in the dust for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. Isaiah xxvi. 19.

My flesh also shall rest in hope, leave my soul in hell, neither wilt Holy One to see corruption.

for Thou wilt not Thou suffer Thine Psalm xvi. 9, 10.

They which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage. Neither can they die any more; for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. Luke xx. 35, 36.

The hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. John v. 28, 29.

This is the Father's will which hath sent Me, that of all which He hath given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day. Whoso eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. John vi. 39, 40, 54.

John xi. 25.

Many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Dan. xii. 2.

Since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption; it is sown in dishonour, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. As we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Behold, I show you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump (for the trumpet shall sound), and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory. I Cor. xv. 21, 22, 42-44, 49, 51-54. Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? I Cor. vi. 2, 3.

We know that, if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven; if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. we that are in this tabernacle do groan being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 2 Cor. v. I-4.
