Mon. 21. His excellency the Lord Lieu-
tenant, directed three hundred pounds to
be paid to the Revd. Dr. Mann, archdea-
con of Dublin, to be delivered by him,
to the feveral parish minifters, for the fup-
port of the induftrious in diatrefs, in this
time of fcarcity, in their different parishes ;
and for other parts of the kingdom, he
has ordered an importation of Corn.-
The E. of Donegal dueƐted to the amount
of one hundred pounds to be distributed
in Belfaft; and upon this occafion of ge-
neral diitrefs the poor have not been neg-
lected. The archbishop of Dublin gave
an allowance of bread in a very liberal

manner.

Fri. MAY 2. The Hon House of Commons waited upon his excellency the Lord Lieutenant, with an addiels, praying his excellency to promote the return of the feptennial Bill.

The managers of the charitable loan in the city of Dublin, have been paid by the Right Hon. Lord Vifc. Headfort, the bequest of Mrs. Julia Leflie, amounting to 13581. 95. 8d.

Sat. 3. Edmond Sheehy, James Buxton, and James Farrell, were executed at Clogheen, purfuant to their fentence, for the murder of John Bridge; they feverally delivered to the fheriff declarations, which they had previously prepared and figned, and (as they faid) because they were expected, and to prevent others being made. In these they have denied being any way concerned against the peace of their country, or loyalty to their king; but to judge of thefe declarations let us have recourfe to facts; the Alibi which was attempted by the Revd. Mr. Sheehy, to fupport which, he produced many witneffes, he in his dying declaration denies, by acknowledging the death of Bridge, whom before he would prove to be still living, and it must be obferved, his witnefles fupported the teftimony for the crown; this is known to many, fo will not admit of being controverted. The Alibi attempted by Edmond Sheehy, was fairly overturned by the testimony of Mr. Tennifon, who fupported his evidence with fuch particulars as were moft fatisfactory. We will not pretend to account for fome mens notions of guilt, or the refarves they have to fupport themselves,

Care must be taken are to be placed above that the fkins and hides be not put into the ouze in the tan vatts, untill it be no warmer than the blood of a beast just killed; by which means the leather is nourthed by the ouze, and the tanning expedited more effectually than in the ordinary method of tanning with cold ouze. Care mult likewise be taken not to use an iron pan, which will blacken and harden the leather. The oftener the fresh ouze is applied (as above) with a natural warmth, it impregnates the leather fooner than any tannage made by bark, and expedites the tannage.

Mr. Mayor

Sir It is with great indignation and contempt we reflect on the past and prefent maffacre of many of the lives of our poor Roman Catholicks who are fuffering for religion and liberty fake, but ye herick dogs the day will foon come that we will make your potent bloods go like a flood down your theets ye heretick wolves we will foon thake of your yok like true born fons of hibernia and retaliate all grevances on your own heads you fir with the corporation of Limerick thought to opprefs the Roman catholick tradimen of the city by a grant of parliament charter but the time will foon come when we will drive your parliament to hell, and paint the walls infide with the blood of its heretick members we are both able and willing to gain our liberty and settle ourfelves free mafters of our own foile and give you as fatle blow as our ancestors gave the Dains and be well affured we will remember our love to you and the reft of the clan and your member of the houfe Charles Smith by name for his vigilance in charters for the heretick dogs The tradimen of Limerick, that little pert animal Sir Herry Haflon fhall pay for his vigglence in hunting the whit boys fo called we will give his body to our dogs for food and as a juft reward for his merit his foul to the devle to conclude fir a
