OVING FATHER: enter into my heart that I may love Thee with all my strength and serve Thee with all my mind. Forgive the failures and the sins which I renounce before Thee. So direct and control my inner life that I may ever think on whatsoever things are true and pure and lovely. Keep me outwardly in my body and inwardly in my soul, and sustain me in self-reverence and selfcontrol. Help me to discharge every duty which Thou dost lay upon me, and give me courage and a cheerful spirit and a great faith before which may vanish every mountain of fear and doubt and anxiety.

Here and now do I offer and present myself unto Thee in every faculty of my being; and grant that this my offering may be holy and acceptable in Thy sight. Put within me the mind of Christ, Who pleased not Himself, but took upon Him the burdens of others and freely laid down His life that all Thy children might share His blessedness. May it be that I shall live the unselfish life even as He lived it. Inspire me with the supreme ambition of leaving the world somewhat better than I found it, and to this end bless all my work, and study, and

play so that I may be the better fitted to do Thy will, and to come off more than conqueror in the battle of life. This prayer I make in Christ's Holy Name. AMEN.

UR HEAVENLY FATHER, we want to be Thy children. We confess that we have not always desired this. This fact is a great surprise to ourselves, but then we don't understand ourselves. Thou knowest us all together. Thou knowest our frame. Thou rememberest that we are dust. Therefore, Thou pitiest us like a father. We thank Thee for showing us in Jesus Christ how to become Thy children. He taught us to call Thee "Our Father." This knowledge makes us glad. Truly, God is love, and Thy love is broader than the measure of man's mind. O God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” It pleased Thee in bringing many sons into glory to make, our Lord Jesus, Thy well-beloved Son, who is the Author of our salvation, perfect through suffering. This is love unspeakable. We cannot understand it, but we rejoice in it and live because of it. We love Thee, therefore, because Thou hast first loved us. We desire to prove this love by our lives. Do Thou, enlighten our minds, warm our hearts, quicken our consciences, purify our

desires, control our motives, and perfect our purposes.

Oh, our Father, we face many great and subtle temptations. Bring us off more than conquerers through Him that loved us. Help us to be good soldiers of Jesus Christ, to put on the whole armor of Christ, to fight the good fight of faith, to lay hold of eternal life. What soldiers we shall then be! What splendid service we shall then render to our fellowmen when we are girded with truth, having the breast-plate of righteousness, shod with the Gospel of Peace, shielded by faith, helmeted with salvation and wielding the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

Dear Father, no one can ever rob us of our God-given rights, liberties, honors, powers, possessions if we thus daily serve Thee as soldiers, using all prayer and watching capably and constantly. All this we can only do by letting Thee come and live by Thy Holy Spirit We will ever pray:

in us.

Come, dearest Lord descend and dwell

By faith and love in every breast; Then shall we know and taste and feel The joys that cannot be expressed.

AMEN.

EAR HEAVENLY FATHER, help us

to come to thee as gladly and as certain of welcome as when we go to our fathers, or mothers. We need Thee, for we are weak and we have sinned against Thee. But Thou dost pity our weaknesses, and dost love us in spite of our sins. This Thou hast told us in Thy Word, therefore we come boldly to Thee. We are sorry we have ever done wrong. Forgive us for Jesus' sake and make and keep us good. Cleanse our hearts; purify our thoughts. Incline us to love Thy Word, to keep Thy Commandments and to serve Thee with gladness. Help us to be kind and courteous and helpful at home; true to our friends; forgiving to those who wrong us; sympathetic and generous to all, but especially to the aged, the poor, the sick and all who are, in any way, afflicted. Bless our country. Give wisdom and courage and the spirit of truth and justice to all who are elected to rule, and guide us into all righteousness and peace. Make and keep us worthy of the liberties we enjoy, and thankful for every blessing of life. For Jesus' sake. AMEN.
