that the statements made in my ast letter were in no way exaggerated, I have translated the following Report of the Commissioner Extraordinary at Palermo, Gen. Cadorna, and take the liberty of transcribing it here, in order that Christians in America may know something of the spirit of Holy Mother in Italy, and of the charac. ter of her most faithful adherents, the Brigands. The Report was published in the official gazette of the Kingdom, and is as follows:
