GOSPEL. John x. 1. 10.

T that time: Jesus said to the Pharisees: Verily,

Averily, I say to you. He that entereth not by the

door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way is a thief and a robber. But he that entereth by the door, is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth the door, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calleth his own sheep by their names, and leadeth them out. And when he leadeth out his own sheep, he goeth before them and the sheep follow him, because they know his voice. But they follow not a stranger, but fly from him; because they know not the voice of strangers. This parable Jesus spoke to them: but they understood not what he said to them. Jesus therefore said to them again: Verily, verily, I say to you: I am the door of the sheep. All that have ever come, are thieves and robbers; and the sheep heard them not. I am the door; by me if any one entereth, he shall be saved: and he shall go in and out, and find pastures. The thief cometh only to kill, steal, and destroy. I am come, that they may have life, and have it more abundantly. CREDO.

I. LESSON.. Acts ii. 14. 21.

N those days: Peter standing up with the eleven, raised his voice, and said to them; Men of Judea, and all you that dwell in Jerusalem, be this known to you, and give ear to my words; for these men are not drunk, as you imagine, it being now but the third hour of the day; but this is what was foretold by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith the Lord, I will pour out my spirit on all flesh, and your sons, and your daughters shall prophesy; and your young men shall see visions, and your old men dream dreams. And in those days I will pour out on my servants, and handmaids, my spirit, and they shall prophesy; and I will shew wonders in the heavens above, and signs on the earth below, blood and fire and vapour of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and public day of the Lord cometh. And it shall come to pass, that whoever calleth on the name of the Lord, shall be saved.

Alleluia. V. Ps. 32. The heavens were founded by the word of the Lord, and all their host by the breath of his mouth.

Here is said the Gloria in excelsis.

II. COLLECT. Prasta, quæsumus. Grant, we beseech thee, O Almighty and most merciful God, that thy holy spirit may descend and dwell in our souls, and so thoroughly purify us, that we may at length become the temple of his glory. Thro'.

From this day to Saturday next inclusively, after the Collect of the day, is suid the COLLECT, Ecclesiæ tuæ, or Deus omnium, together with their SECRET and POSTCOMMUNION, in their proper places, as p. lxxii.

II. LESSON. Acts v. 12. 16.

N those days: Many signs and wonders were wrought

they were all with one mind assembled together in Solomon's porch. And none of the rest durst join them; however the people extolled them very much. And the multitude of men and women that believed in the Lord, was more increased, so that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that when Peter should pass by, his shadow at least might fall upon some of them, and they be delivered from their infirmities. There came also to Jerusalem great numbers from the neighbouring cities, bringing their sick, and such as were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all cured.

Alleluia, Alleluia. V. Come, Holy Ghost, with the PROSE, as above, p. 148.

GOSPEL. John vi. 44. 52. T that time: Jesus said to the multitude of the Jews; No man can come to me, unless the Father, who sent me, draweth him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets: And they shall be all taught by God. Every one that hath heard the Father, and learnt of him, cometh to me. Not that any one hath seen the Father, except he, who is of God; he indeed hath seen the Father. Verily, verily, I say to you; He that believeth in me, hath life everlasting. I am the bread of life. Your fathers eat Manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread that cometh down from heaven, that if any man eat of it, he may not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is my flesh, for the life of the world. CRedo.

OFFERT. Ps. 118. I will meditate on thy commandments, which I have loved very much; and I will put in practice thy commandments, which I have loved. Alleluia.

SECRET. Receive, we beseech thee, O Lord, this offering, and grant that we may celebrate with piety these sacred mysteries. Thro'.

COMM. John 14. I leave you peace. Alleluia. I give you my peace. Alleluia, Alleluia.

PÓSTCÓMM. Sumentes. Having partaken, O Lord, of thy heavenly sacraments, we beseech thy clemency, that we may enjoy, in an eternity of bliss, the effects of the mysteries we celebrate in time. Thro'.

LESSON. Acts viii. 5. 9.

N those days: Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ to them. And the people with one accord, were attentive to the things Philip spoke, hearing and seeing the wonders wrought by him. For many of them that were possesed with unclean spirits, went out, crying with a loud voice. And many that were sick of the palsy and lame, were cured. There was therefore great joy in that city.

GOSPEL. Luke ix. 1. 6.

T that time: Jesus calling together the twelve Apos

vils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. And he said to them: Take nothing for your journey, neither staff nor scrip, nor bread, nor money, neither have two coats. And whatever house you enter into stay there, and go not out thence. And whosoever shall not receive you; when you go out of that city, shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. And they set out, and went through the towns, preaching the Gospel, and healing every where. CREDO.
