If he treats others politely, and they do not return his politeness, let him turn inwards and examine his own feeling of respect.

עמוד 15 - If, on self-examination, I find that I am not upright, shall I not be in fear even of a poor man in his loose garments of hair-cloth? If, on selfexamination, I find that I am upright, I will go forward against thousands and tens of thousands.
עמוד 66 - He may pass. He does not mind small matters." • 3. Chung-kung said, " If a man cherish in himself a reverential feeling of the necessity of attention to business, though he may be easy in small matters, in his government of the people, that may be allowed.
