Let the peoples confess to Thee, O God: let all the peoples give praise to Thee.

Let the nations be glad and rejoice for Thou judgest the peoples with justice, and directest the nations upon earth.

Let the peoples, O God, confess to Thee: let all the peoples give praise to Thee: the earth hath yielded her fruit.

May God, our God bless us, may God bless us: and all the ends of the earth fear Him. Glory &'c.

Ps. 99. Jubilate Deo.

(ING joyfully to God, all the earth: serve ye the Lord with gladness:

Come in before His presence: with great joy. Know that the Lord He is God: He made us, and not we ourselves.

We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Go into His gates with praise: into His courts with hymns: and give glory to Him.

Praise ye His Name: for the Lord is sweet, His mercy endureth for ever: and His truth to generation and generation. Glory dc.

HYMN. Somno refectis artubus.

UR limbs refreshed with slumber now,
And sloth cast off, in prayer we bow ;
And while we sing Thy praises here,
Be Thou, O gracious Father, near.

To Thee our earliest morning song,
To Thee our hearts' full powers belong;
And Thou, O Holy One, prevent
Each following action and intent.
As shades at morning flee away,
And night before the Star of day,
So each transgression of the night
Be purg'd by Thee, Celestial Light !
Cut off, we pray Thee, each offence,
And every lust of thought and sense ;
That by their lips who Thee adore,
Thou may'st be praised for evermore.
O Father, what we ask be done
Through Jesus Christ, Thine only Son,
Who, with the Holy Ghost and Thee,
Doth live and reign eternally. Amen.

Let us pray.

LORD, God Almighty, who hast brought us to the beginning of this day, help us in it by Thy power, that we may not fall into any sin: but in all our thoughts, words, and works ever tend to the fulfilment of Thy will: through Christ our Lord. Amen.

May Holy Mary, Saint Joseph, our Guardian Angels, Saint Ŋ— (Saint of the day), our Patron Saints, and all the Saints, intercede for us to the Lord, that we may receive help and salvation from Him who liveth and reigneth, world without end. Amen.

May the Lord order our days and actions in His peace, and grant His eternal rest to the souls of the faithful departed. Amen.

A

MORNING OFFICE: SECOND PART.

Our Father. Hail Mary.

ACTS OF FAITH, HOPE, AND CHARITY. LMIGHTY and everlasting God, grant us an increase of faith, hope, and charity; and that we may deserve to obtain what Thou promisest, make us to love what Thou commandest; through Christ our Lord. Amen.

We firmly believe all that the Catholic Church believeth and teacheth, because Thou, O God, hast revealed it: and in this faith we desire to live and die.

And because of Thy promises, we hope through the merits of Christ Thy Son to obtain the forgiveness of our sins, grace to serve Thee faithfully in this life, and the rewards Thou hast promised in the next.

Moreover, we love Thee with our whole hearts and above all things, because Thou, O God, art the Sovereign Good and worthy of all love; and for Thy sake we love our neighbours as ourselves.

Let us call to mind the chief sins of our past life, and make resolutions against the temptations and dangerous occasions we may meet with during the day.

GOD of infinite goodness, how little have we served Thee in the past: how greatly have we sinned against Thee! We are heartily sorry that we have lost that time in offending Thee which Thou gavest us to be employed in Thy service, in advancing the good of our souls,

and in obtaining everlasting life. We are sorry above all things that we have offended Thee, because Thou art infinitely good, and sin is infinitely displeasing to Thee. We desire to love Thee with our whole hearts, and firmly purpose, by the help of Thy grace, to serve Thee more faithfully for the time to come. Do Thou, O Holy Ghost, both breathe into us the desires which are pleasing to Thee, and endue us with the strength and constancy to carry them out in our actions: that, disregarding all vain and passing things, we may fix our minds and our hearts on that kingdom, in which, with the Father and the Son, Thou livest and reignest one God, world without end. Amen.

Let us mentally unite in the Sacrifice of the Mass, wherever it is being offered up.

WE

WE offer Thee, O God, the life and death of Thine only-begotten Son, and with them these our affections and resolutions; our thoughts, words, deeds, and sufferings of this day and of our whole lives: 1. in honour of Thine adorable Majesty, 2. in thanksgiving for all Thy benefits, 3. in satisfaction for our sins, and 4. to obtain the assistance of Thy grace; that persevering to the end in doing Thy holy will, we may love and enjoy Thee for ever in Thy glory. Amen.

Let us place ourselves under the protection of Almighty God.

THO

HOU knowest, O God, how weak and unable we are to do good. Leave us not to ourselves but take us under Thy protection, and give us grace faithfully to comply with these holy re
