este hombre es un homicida, pues | No doubt this man is a murderer, aunque escapado de la mar, la venganza no le dejá vivir. 5 Mas él sacudiendo la vibora en el fuego, no sintió mal alguno. 6 Empero ellos estaban esperando que se hincharía, y caería muerto de repente, mas despues de haber esperado por largo rato, y viendo que no le sobre venía mal alguno, mudando de parecer, decían que él erá un dios. 7 Y en aquellos lugares había posesiones de un hombre principal de la isla llamado Publio, el cual nos recibió, y hospedó tres dias con humanidad. 8 Y aconteció que el padre de Publio estaba en cama enfermo de calenturas, y disenteria: al cual Pablo entró á ver, y despues de haber orado poniendole las manos encima, le sanó. 9 Y hecho esto, tambien los demas que padecían enfermedades en la isla venían, y eran curados. 10 Los cuales nos honraron tambien mucho, y cuando nos embarcamos, nos proveyeron de todo lo necesario. 11 Y despues de tres meses partimos en un barco de Alejandria, que había invernado en la isla, la cual tenía por divisa Castor y Polux. 12 Y llegados á Siracusa, nos detuvimos allí tres dias. 13 Y de allí costeando alrededor vinimos á Rhegio, y otro dia soplando el Austro, llegamos el siguiente á Puteoli. 14 En donde habiendo hallado algunos hermanos, nos rogaron que nos detuviesemos con ellos siete dias, y en seguida vinimos á Roma. 15 De donde oyendo de nosotros los hermanos, nos salieron á recibir hasta el Foro de Apio, y las Tres-posadas. and when we departed, they laded us with such things as were necessary. 11 And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux. 12 And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days. 13 And from thence we fetched a compass, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli: 14 Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome. 15 And from thence, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii Forum, and the Three Taverns; not that I had aught to accuse my nation of. 20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain. 21 And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee. 22 But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against. 23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening. 24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not. 25 Y como estuviesen discordes entre sí, se fueron, cuando Pablo les dijó esta palabra: Bien ha hablado el Espíritu Santo por el profeta Isaías á nuestros padres. 26 Diciendo: Vé á ese pueblo, y diles: de oido oiréis y no entenderéis, y viendo veréis, y no percibiréis. 27 Porque el corazon de este pueblo se ha engrosado, y oyen con oidos pesados, y sus ojos los cierran porque no vean con los ojos, ni oigan con los oidos, ni entiendan con el corazon, y se conviertan, y yo los sane. 28 Os hago pues saber á vosotros, que á los Gentiles es enviada esta salud de Dios, y ellos oirán. 29 Y habiendo dicho esto, los Judios se salieron teniendo entre sí grande contienda. 30 Y Pablo permaneció dos años enteros en la casa que tenía alqui- | lada, y recibía á todos los que venían á él, 31 Predicando el reyno de Dios, y enseñando las cosas que pertenecen al Señor Jesu-Christo con toda libertad y sin impedimento. 25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, 26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive : 27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart and should be converted, and I should heal them. 28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it. 29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves. 30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, 31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him. Dios para salud á todo aquel que cree, al Judio primeramente, y tambien al Griego. 17 Porque la justicia de Dios se descubre en él de fé en fé, como está escrito: que el justo vivirá por la fé. 18 Porque la ira de Dios se manifiesta desde el cielo contra toda impiedad é injusticia de los hombres, que retienen la verdad en injusticia. 19 Porque lo que se puede conocer de Dios, á ellos es manifiesto: Porque Dios se lo manifestó. 20 Porque las cosas invisibles de él, desde la creacion del mundo se ven claramente comprehendidas, por las cosas que son hechas; aun | su virtud eterna, y su divinidad, de modo que son inexcusables. 21 Porque habiendo conocido á Dios, no le glorificaron como á Dios: ni le dieron gracias, antes se envanecieron en sus pensamientos, y su corazon insensato se oscureció. 22 Teniendose por sabios, se hicieron necios. 23 Y trocaron la gloria del Dios incorruptible en semejanza de una figura de hombre corruptible, y de aves, y de quadrupedos, y de serpientes. 24 Por lo cual los entregó Dios tambien á la inmundicia, por las concupiscencias de sus corazones: paraque contaminasen sus cuerpos entre sí. 25 Los cuales mudaron la verdad de Dios en mentira, honrando, y sirviendo á las criaturas antes que al Criador, el cual es bendito por los siglos, Amen. 26 Por lo cual los entregó Dios á pasiones vergonzosas, pues aun sus mugeres trocaron el natural uso, en otro uso que es contra naturaleza. 27 Y asimismo los hombres dejando el uso natural de las muge8, ardieron en sus concupiscen 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: 21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward |
