8 Y Jesus les dijó: sacad ahora, y llevad al Maestresala. Y lo hicieron así.

9 Y cuando el Maestresala gustó el agua hecha vino, sin saber de donde erá, (aunque los que servían, y habían sacado el agua lo sabían :) el Maestresala llamó al esposo.

10 Y le dijo: cualquier hombre pone primero el buen vino, y despues que han bebido bien, entonces pone el peor, mas tú has guardado el buen vino hásta ahora.

11 Este principio de milagros, hizó Jesus en Caná de Galiléa y manifestó su gloria, y sus discípulos creyeron en él.

12 Despues de esto descendió á Capharnaum él, y su madre, y hermanos, y discípulos y estuvieron allí no muchos dias.

13 Y estaba cerca la Pascua de los Judios, y subió Jesus á Jerusalem.

14 Y halló en el templo los que vendían bueyes y ovejas, y los que vendían palomas, y los cambistas sentados.

15 Y hecho de cuerdas un azote, echólos á todos del templo, y las ovejas, y los bueyes; y derramó por tierra el dinero de los cambistas, y trastornó las mesas.

16 Y á los que vendían las palomas, dijó: Quitad esto de aquí, y no hagais la casa de mi Padre, casa de tráfico.

17 Entonces se acordaron sus discípulos de lo que estaba escrito: El celo de tu casa me tiene consumido.

18 Y los Judios respondieron, y digeronle, ¿Qué señal nos muestras de que haces estas cosas?

19 Jesus respondió, y les dijó: Destruid este templo, y en tres dias yo le levantaré.

8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it. 9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was, (but the servants which drew the water knew,) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

12 After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples; and they continued there not many days.

13 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen ; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house a house of merchandise.

17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

18 T Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

¿En quarenta y seis años fué edificado este templo, y tú lo levantarás en tres dias?

21 Mas él hablabá del templo de su cuerpo.

22 Por esto cuando resucitó de entre los muertos, sus discípulos se acordaron que les había dicho esto, y creyeron la Escritura, y la palabra, que Jesus había dicho.

23 Y estando en Jerusalem en la Pascua, el dia de la fiesta, muchos creyeron en su nombre viendo los milagros que hacía.

24 Mas el mismo Jesus no se fiabá de ellos, porque él conocía á todos.

25 Y no tenía necesidad que alguno le diese testimonio del hombre: Porque él sabia lo que había en el hombre.

CAPITULO III.

HABIA un hombre de los Phariseos, llamado Nicodemus,

Príncipe de los Judios.

2 Este vinó á Jesus de noche, y dijóle: Rabbí, sabemos que eres Maestro venido de Dios: Porque nadie puede hacer estos milagros que tú haces, si Dios no estuviere con él.

3 Jesus respondió, y le dijó: en verdad, en verdad te digo que el que no naciere otra vez, no puede ver el reyno de Dios.

4 Dijole Nicodemus: ¿cómo puede un hombre nacer siendo viejo? ¿Puede entrar de nuevo en el vientre de su madre, y nacer otra vez? 5 Jesus respondió: en verdad, en verdad te digo, que el que no renaciere de agua, y de Espíritu no puede entrar en el reyno de Dios.

6 Lo que es nacido de carne, carne es, y lo que es nacido del Espíritu, es espíritu.

21 But he spake of the temple of his body.

22 When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the Scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

23 Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.

24 But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,

25 And needed not that any should testify of man; for he knew what was in man.

CHAPTER III.

HERE was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

7 No te maravilles porque te dijó: Necesario es nacer otra vez. 8 El viento donde quiere soplá: oyes su sonido, mas no sabes de donde viene, ni adonde vá; así es todo aquel que es nacido del Espíritu.

9 Respondió Nicodemus y le dijó: ¿cómo puede hacerse esto?

10 Respondió Jesus, y le dijó: ¿Tú eres un maestro de Israel, é ignoras esto?

11 En verdad, en verdad te digo: que hablamos lo que sabemos, y atestiguamos lo que hemos visto, y vosotros no recibis nuestro testimonio.

12 Si os he dicho cosas terrenas, y no las creeis: ¿cómo creeréis, si os digere cosas celestiales?

13 Y nadie subió al cielo, sino el que descendió del cielo, es á saber el Hijo del hombre que está en el cielo.

7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. 9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?

10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?

11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

15 Paraque todo aquel, que cree en él, no perezca, mas tenga vida

eterna.

16 Porque de tal manera amó Dios al mundo, que dió su Hijo unigénito; paraque todo aquel que cree en él, na perezca, antes tenga

vida eterna.

17 Porque no envió Dios á su Hijo al mundo paraque condene al mundo, sino paraque el mundo sea salvo por él.

18 El que cree en él, no es condenado; mas el que no cree, ya es condenado porque no creyó en el nombre del Hijo unigénito de Dios.

19 Y esta es la condenacion: que la luz vinó al mundo, y los hombres amaron mas las tinieblas que la luz; porque sus obras eran malas.

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 ¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds

were evil.

20 Porque todo aquel que obra el mal, aborrece la luz, y no viene á la luz, paraque sus obras no sean reprehendidas.

21 Mas el que obra verdad, viene á la luz, paraque sus obras sean hechas manifiestas, que son hechas en Dios.

22 Despues de estas cosas vinó Jesus con sus discípulos á la tierra de Judea, y estaba allí con ellos, y bautizaba.

23 Y Juan tambien estaba bautizando en Enon junto á Salim; porque allí había muchas aguas, y venían, y eran bautizados.

24 Porque Juan aun no había sido puesto en la carcel.

25 Y se movió una cuestion entre algunos de los discípulos de Juan, y los Judios acerca de la purificacion.

26 Y vinieron á Juan, y le digeron: Rabbí, el que estaba contigo de la otra parte del Jordan, del cual tú diste testimonio, he aquí que bautiza, y todos vienen á él.

27 Juan respondió y dijó : no puede el hombre recibir nada, si no le fuere dado del cielo.

20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

22 After these things came Je. sus and his disciples into the land of Judea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.

23 ¶ And John also was baptizing in Enon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

24 For John was not yet cast into prison.

25¶ Then there arose a question between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purifying.

26 And they came unto John, and said unto him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou barest witness, behold, the same baptizeth, and all men come to him.

27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

28 Ye yourselves bear me wit

29 El que tiene la esposa, es el Esposo mas el amigo del Esposo, que está con él, y le oye, se llena de gozo con la voz del Esposo. Así pues este mi gozo es cumplido.

30 Es necesario, que el crezca, y que yo mengüe.

31 El que de arriba viene, sobre todos es el que es de la tierra, terreno es, y hablá de la tierra: el que viene del cielo, sobre todos

es.

32 Y lo que él vió, y oyó, esto testificá; y nadie recibe su testimonio.

33 El que recibe su testimonio,

29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. 30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.

32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

34 Porque él que Dios envió, las palabras de Dios hablá, porque Dios no le dá el Espíritu por medida.

35 El Padre amá el Hijó, y todas las cosas ha puesto en su mano. 36 El que cree en el Hijo, tiene vida eterna; ; mas él que no cree el Hijo no verá la vida; sino que la ira de Dios está sobre él.

34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him.

35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

CAPITULO IV.

CUANDO Jesus entendió que los Phariseos habían oido que él hacía, y bautizabá mas discípulos que Juan,

2 (Aunque Jesus no bautizabá, sino sus discípulos,)

3 Dejó á Judea, y fuése otra vez á Galiléa.

4 Y debía pasar necesariamente por Samaria.

5 Vinó pues á una ciudad de Samaria, que se llama Sichar; junto á la heredad, que Jacob dió á su hijo Joseph.

6 Y estaba allí la fuente de Jacob. Jesus pues cansado del camino, se sentó así sobre la fuente. Erá como la hora de sexta.

7 Vinó una muger de Samaria á sacar agua. Jesus le dijó. Dame de beber.

8 Porque sus discípulos habían ido á la ciudad á comprar de comer. 9 Y aquella muger Samaritana le dijó, ¿cómo tú, siendo Judio me pides de beber á mí, que soy muger Samaritana? Porque los Judios no se tratan con los Samaritanos.

10 Jesus respondió, y le dijó: Si conocieres el don de Dios, y quien es el que te dice: Dame de beber, tú le pedirías á él. y él te daría agua viva.

WHEN

CHAPTER IV.

WHEN therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,

2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

3 He left Judea, and departed again into Galilee.

4 And he must needs go through Samaria.

5 Then cometh he to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) 9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living

water.
