26 Si alguno viene á mí, y no aborrece á su padre y madre, y muger, é hijos, y hermanos, y hermanas, y aun tambien su vida, no puede ser mi discípulo.

27 Y cualquiera que no lleve su cruz, y no viene en pos de mí, no puede ser mi discípulo.

28 ¿Porque quién de vosotros queriendo edificar una torre, no se sienta antes á contar los gastos, para saber si tendrá lo que ha menester para acabarla?

29 No sea que despues que hubiese puesto el cimiento, y no pueda acabarla, todos los que lo vieren, comienzen á hacer burla de él, 30 Diciendo: este hombre comenzó á edificar, y no ha podido acabar. 31 O ¿qué Rey yendo á hacer હું guerra á otro Rey no se sienta antes á considerar, si con diez mil hombres, puede salir al encuentro del que viene contra él con veinte mil?

32 O de otra suerte, cuando el otro está aun lejos, le envía una embajada pidiendole paz.

33 Así pues cualquiera de vosotros, que no renuncia á todas las cosas que posee, no puede ser mi discípulo.

34 Buena es la sal, mas si la sal pierde su sabor, ¿con qué será sazonada?

135 Ni es buena para la tierra, ni para el muladar, sino que es echada fuera. Quien tiene oidos para oir, oyga.

CAPITULO XV.

26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?

29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,

30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?

32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

34 ¶ Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned?

35 It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

CHAPTER XV.

HEN drew near unto him all

2 Y los Phariseos, y los Escribas murmuraban, diciendo: Este recibe á los pecadores, y come con ellos.

3 Y él les propuso esta parábola, diciendo.

2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

3 ¶ And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

4 ¿Quién de vosotros es el hombre que teniendo cien ovejas, si perdiere una de ellas, no deja las noventa y nueve en el desierto, y va en busca de la que se perdió, hasta que la halle?

5 Y cuando la ha hallado, la pone sobre sus hombros gozoso.

6 Y viniendo á casa llama á sus amigos, y vecinos diciendoles : dadme el parabien porque he hallado mi oveja, que se había perdido.

7 Digoos que habrá mas gozo en el cielo por un pecador que se arrepienta, que por noventa y nueve justos, que no han menester arrepentirse.

8 O¿qué muger que tiene diez drachmas, si perdiere una drachma, no enciende el candil, y barre la casa, y busca çon diligencia hasta hallarla?

9 Y cuando la hubiese hallado, junta las amigas y las vecinas, y dice: dadme el parabien, porque he hallado la drachma, que había perdido.

10 Así os digo, que hay gozo delante de los ángeles de Dios, por un pecador que se arrepiente.

11 Mas dijó: un hombre tenía dos hijos.

12 Y el mas mozo de ellos dijó á su padre: Padre, dame la parte de hacienda, que me toca. Y él les repartió la hacienda.

13 Y no muchos dias despues, el hijo mas mozo juntando todo lo suyo, partióse lejos á un pais apartado, y allí malrotó todo su haber, viviendo disolutamente.

14 Y cuando lo hubó gastado todo, sobrevinó una grande hambre en aquel pais, y comenzó á faltarle. 15 Y fué y llegóse á uno de los ciudadanos de aquella tierra, el cual le envió á su cortijo á guardar puercos.

4 What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?

9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

11 ¶ And he said, A certain man had two sons:

12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16 Y deseaba henchir su vientre de las mondaduras que los puercos comían; mas nadie se las daba.

17 Y volviendo sobre sí dijó: ¿cuántos jornaleros en la casa de mi padre, tienen abundancia de pan, y yo aquí perezco de hambre?

18 Me levantaré é iré á mi padre, y le diré: Padre, pecado he contra el cielo, y contra tí.

19 Ya no soy digno de ser llamado tu hijo: hazme como á uno de tus jornaleros.

20 Y levantandose se fué á su padre. Y cuando todavia estaba lejos le vió su padre, y fué movido á misericordia, y corriendo á él le echó los brazos al cuello, y le besó. 21 Y el hijo le dijó: Padre, he pecado contra el cielo, y contra tí, ya no soy digno de ser llamado hijo tuyo.

22 Mas el padre dijó á sus criados: traed aquí el mejor vestido, y vestidle, y poned un anillo en su mano, y zapatos en sus pies.

23 Ý traed el ternero cebado, y matadle, y comamos, y celebremos un banquete.

24 Porque este hijo mio erá muerto, y ha revivido, y se había perdido, y ha sido hallado. Y comenzaron á celebrar el banquete. 25 Y su hijo mayor estaba en el campo, cuando vinó, y llegó cerca casa, oyó la música, y el bayle.

26 Y llamando á uno de los criados, le preguntó que era aquello.

27 Y él le dijó: tu hermano ha venido, y tu padre ha hecho matar el ternero cebado, porque le ha recobrado salvo.

28 Entonces se indignó, y no queía entrar. Mas saliendo el padre, comenzó á rogarle.

29 Y él respondiendo dijó al pa

16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat; and no man gave unto him.

17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, Í have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: 23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

25 Now his elder son was in the field and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things

meant.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and entreated him.

29 And he answering said to his

30 Mas luego que ha venido este tu hijo, que ha devorado tu hacienda con rameras, hasle hecho matar el ternero cebado.

31 El entonces le dijo: Hijo, tú siempre estás conmigo, y todas mis cosas son tuyas.

32 Mas erá razon celebrar un banquete, y regocijarnos, porque este tu hermano erá muerto, y ha revivido; se había perdido, y ha sido hallado.

CAPITULO XVI.

Y DECIA tambien á sus discí

pulos: Había un hombre rico, el cual tenía un mayordomo, y este fué acusado delante de él, de que había disipado sus bienes.

2 Y le llamó, y le dijo: ¿qué es esto que oygo decir de tí? Da cuenta de tu mayordomía, porque ya no podrás ser mas mayordomo.

3 Entonces el mayordomo dijó entre sí qué haré? Porque mi Señor me quitá la mayordomía: cavar no puedo; de mendigar me avergüenzo.

4 Ya se lo que haré, paraque cuando fuere echado de la mayordomía, me recíban en sus casas.

5 Y llamando á cada uno de los deudores de su Señor, dijó al primero, ¿cuánto debes á mi Señor ?

CHAPTER XVI.

AND he said also unto his disci

ples, There was a certain rich man, which had a steward; and the same was accused unto him that he had wasted his goods.

2 And he called him, and said unto him, How is it that I hear this of thee? give an account of thy stewardship; for thou mayest be no longer steward.

3 Then the steward said within himself, What shall I do? for my lord taketh away from me the stewardship: I cannot dig; to beg I am ashamed.

4 I am resolved what to do, that, when I am put out of the stewardship, they may receive me into their houses.

5 So he called every one of his lord's debtors unto him, and said unto the first, How much owest thou unto my lord?

7 Despues dijó a otro: ¿Y tú, cuánto debes? Y él dijó, cien coros de trigo. Y él le dijó: toma tu obligacion, y escribe ochenta.

him, Take thy bill, and sit down quickly, and write fifty.

7 Then said he to another, And how much owest thou? And he said, A hundred measures of wheat. And he said unto him, Take thy bill, and write fourscore.

8 Y alabó el Señor al mayordomo infiel, porque había obrado prudentemente porque los hijos de este siglo mas prudentes son en su generacion, que los hijos de la luz. 9 Yo os digo: Haceos amigos de las riquezas de iniquidad, paraque cuando falleciereis, seais recibidos en las moradas eternas.

10 El que es fiel en lo menos, tambien es fiel en lo mas, y él que en lo menos es injusto, tambien es injusto en lo mas.

11 Pues si en las riquezas injustas no fuisteis fieles, ¿quién os fiará lo que es verdadero?

12 Y si en lo ageno no fuisteis fieles, ¿lo que es vuestro quién os lo dará?

13 Ningun siervo puede servir á dos señores: Porque ó aborrecerá al uno, y amará al otro, ó se allegará al uno, y menospreciará al otro. No podeis servir á Dios y á las riquezas.

14 Mas los Phariseos que eran avaros oían todas estas cosas, y se burlaban de él.

15 Y les dijó: Vosotros sois los que os justificais delante de los hombres. Mas Dios conoce vuestros corazones. Porque lo que los hombres tienen por muy sublime, es abominacion delante de Dios.

16 La Ley, y los Profetas hásta Juan. Desde entónces el reyno de Dios es anunciado, y todos hacen fuerza contra él.

17 Empero es mas facil que pase el cielo, y la tierra, que el que se pierda una tilde de la ley.

18 Cualquiera que despide á su muger, y se casa con otra, comete adulterio, y cualquiera que se casa con la que despidió el marido, coinete adulterio.

8 And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.

9 And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations.

10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

11 If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?

12 And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who shall give you that which is your own?

13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

14 And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things and they derided him.

15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.

17 And it is easier for heaven and earth to pass, than one tittle of the law to fail.

18 Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.
