Psalm xxix. 9. The Lord sitteth above the water-flood: and the Lord remaineth a King for ever.

10. The Lord shall give strength unto his people: the Lord shall give his people the blessing of peace.

Rev. iii. 21.

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my Throne, even as I also overcame and am set down with my Father in His Throne.

WHIT SUNDAY.

Isaiah lxi. 1.

THE Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek: He hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captive, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.

Psalm cxxxix. 6.

Whither shall I go then from thy Spirit: or whither shall I go then from thy presence?

7. If I climb up into heaven, thou art there:

if I go down to hell, thou art there also.

Romans viii. 26.

The Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Psalm li. 11.

Cast me not away from thy presence, and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.

Then the Priest shall say.

will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven.

Lord teach us to pray. Give us this day our

daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; But deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.

Almighty and everlasting God, who art always more ready to hear than we to pray, and are wont to give more than either we desire or deserve; Pour down upon us the abundance of thy mercy; forgiving us those things whereof our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things which we are not worthy to ask, but through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ, thy Son, our Lord. Amen.

Or this.

Prevent us, O Lord, in all our doings, with thy most gracious favour, and further us with thy continual help; that in all our works begun, continued, and ended in thee, we may glorify thy holy Name, and finally by thy mercy obtain everlasting life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

This Exhortation.

Dearly beloved brethen, the Scripture moveth us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our manifold sins and wickedness; and that we should not dissemble nor cloke them before the face of Almighty God our heavenly Father; but confess them with an humble, lowly, penitent, and obedient heart; to the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite

goodness and mercy. And although we ought at all times humbly to acknowledge our sins before God; yet ought we most chiefly so to do, when we assemble and meet together to render thanks for the great benefits that we have received at his hands, to set forth his most worthy praise, to hear his

most holy Word, and to ask those things which are requisite and necessary, as well for the body as the soul. Wherefore I pray and beseech you, as many as are here present, to accompany me with a pure heart, and humble voice, unto the throne of the heavenly grace.
