עמוד 121 - But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
עמוד ix - Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, .which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
עמוד 24 - ... Attempt, and cause a careless Despair. That corrupt affection, which has lain, as it were, dead and frozen in the midst of distracting businesses, or under adversity, when the sun of prosperity has shined upon it, then, like a snake, it presently recovers...
עמוד 279 - For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghoft : and thefe three are one.
עמוד 50 - First of all, they seize upon some text, from whence they draw something which they call a doctrine, and well may it be said to be drawn from the words: forasmuch as it seldom naturally flows or results from them. In the next place, being thus provided, they branch it into several heads ; perhaps twenty, or thirty, or upwards. Whereupon, for the prosecution of these, they repair to some trusty concordance which never fails them, and by the help of that they range six or seven scriptures under each...
