55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.

૫૫ તેજ વેલા ઇશ્યુએ લોકોને કહું કે તને જૈન ચોર પર તેમ તરવારો તથા શોટા લઈને શું મને પકડવા બાહાર આએવા હું નીતે મંદીરમાં તમારી પાશે ઊપદેશ કરતાં બેશતા હતા ને તને અને નહીં પકડી

56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.

૫૬ પણ ભવીશકેહેનારાઓનાં લખેલાં પુરાઁ થવા શારૂ એ બધું ઘઊં તાહાર બધા શીશ તેહેને મુકીને નાહાઠા શૈક્

57 | And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

૧૭ પછી જેઓએ ઇશ્યુને પકડા હતા તે નંહીં શાશતી તથા ઘરડા એકઠા થઞ હુતા તાંહાં કાચ્યા સુખી ઈજકની પાશે [તોર્ડને ] લઈ ગચ્છ

58 But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end.

૫૮ ને પીતર આધ્રો આદ્યો તેહેની પાછલ સુખી ઈઆજકના ઘર સુધી ચાલોગ ને માંહું જઇને અંત જૈવાને ચાકરોની સાથે બેઠો

59 Now the chief priests, and elders, and all the council, sought false witness against Jesus to put him to death; ૫૯ ને સુખી ઈઆજકાએ તથા ઘરડાએ તથા આખી નાએ શુભાએ ઈશુને ભાવીનાંખવાને તેડ઼ેને ઊલટી જુઠી શાહેદી શોધી પણ તેને ન જડી,

60 But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses,

૬૦ જીઠા શાહેદ ઘણા આગેવા તાપણું ન જડી અંતે બે જુદા શાહેદોએ પાશે આવીને કહું

61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days.

૬૧ કે એણે કહુંછે કે હું દેવના મંદીરને પાડીનાંખવાને તથા તરણુ દાહાડામાં તેહેને પાછું બાંધવાને શમરથ છાઁ

62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee ?

૬૨ તાહારે સુખી ઇઆજકે ઊડીને તેહેને કહું છું તું કંઈ જવાબ નથી દેતા એ તાહાર ઊલટી શી શાહેદી આપેછે

63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.

૬૩ પશુ ઈશ્યુ સુપજ રહા તારે સુખી ઈઆર્જકે જવાબ દેતાં તેહેને કહું હું તને છનતા દેવના શમ ઘાલુંછીં કે તું જે ખરી શુટ તે હું દેવના દીકરા છે કે ની એ હુમને કેહે

64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

૬૪ ઇશ્યુ તેહેને કહેછે કે તે કહુ તેજ વલી હું તમને કહુંઊં કે એ પછી માઁણુશના દીકરાને શનરથની જમણી ગન બેશતાં તથા આકાશનાં વાદલાં પર આવતાં તને દેખશો

65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy. ૬૫ તારે સુખી ઈજકે પોતાનાં વચતર પ્ાડીને કહું કે એણે દુરભાશણુ કહુંછું આપણે બીન શાહેદોનો શો ખપ છે જીઓ હવે તમે હજું દુરભાશણુ શાંભલુંછે

66 What think ye! They answered and said, He is guilty of death.

૬૬ તને શું ધારાા ને તેઓએ જવાબ દેતાં કહ્યું કે એ નાતના દંડ લાએક છે

67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,

૬૭ તાહાર તેઓએ તેહેના મહાડા પર થુકીને તેહેને મુકી નારી ને બીજાઓએ તેહેને થબડાકો મારતાં કહું

68 Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

૬૮ કે આ ખીશ. આતભખુધીથી હુમને કેહું કે જેણે તને મારા તે કાણું છે

69 [ Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.

૬૯ ને પીતર બાહાર દીવાનખાનાનાં બેઠો હુતો તાહાર એક દા શીએ તેહેની પાશે આવીને કહું કે હું પણુ ગાલખીના ઈશ્યુની નેડે હુતા

70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.

૭૦ પણ તેણે શહુની આગલ નાકબુલ કરતાં કહ્યું કે તું જે કહેછે તે હું નથી જાણતા

71 And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.

૭૧ ને પાલમાઁ તે બાહાર આએવા પર ખીજીએ તેહેને દેખીને તાંહાં જે [હુતા] તેઓને કહું કે એ પણુ ઇશ્યુ નાનીની ભેડે હુતો

72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.

૭૨ પણ તેણે શન ખાતાં લલી નાકબુલ કર્યું કે તે નાંણુશન હું નથી બ્નતા

73 Aud after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.

૭૩ ને થોડી વાર પછી ઊભારેહેનારાઓએ પાશે આવીને પીતરને કહું કે ખરાખરજ તું પણ તેમાંના છે કાંજે તાહારી ખેાલી પણુ તને પરગટ કછુ મા

74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.

૭૪ તાહારે તે શરાય દેવા તથા શન ખાવા લાગો કે હું તે માં શને નથી ભંણુતા ને તુરતજ સુરધો બોલા

75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

૭૫ ને જે વાત ઈશુએ પીતરને કી હુતી કે સુરહ્યા બાલા અગાઊ તરણવાર તું મને નાકબુલ કરીશ તે તેણે શંભારી તાહારે તે ખા હાર જઇને બહુ રડી

CHAP, XXVII. શતાવીશનો અા

1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:

૧ ને શહુવાર થઈ તાહારે શઘલા સુખી ઈઆતંકાએ તથા લેાકોના ઘરડાઓએ ઇશ્યુને ભારીનાંખવા શારૂ તેહેને ઊલટો મન શુબા કીધા

2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.

૨ પછી તેઓએ તેહુને ખાંધો ન તહુને લઈજઈને પતીઅશ પીલત હાકનને શાો *

3 | Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

૩ તાલુારે તે અપરાધી ઠરાવા હેવું નેઇને તેણેને પકડાવ નાર ઇહુદાએ પશતાવા કરતાં તે તીશ રૂપીઆ સુખી ઈસ્મા જંકોની તથા ઘરડાની પાસે પાછા લાવીને કહું

4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

૪ કે નીરઅપરાધી લેણું શોંપવાથી ને પાપ કીધુંકે તાહારે તેઓએ કહું કે [તે] હમારે શું [તે] તું બંણુ

5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

૫ પછી મંદીરનાં રૂપીઆ પૈકીદઇને તે નીકલા ને તેણે જઇન પા તાને પ્Îશીદીધી

6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

૬ તાહારે સુખી ઇજંકાએ તે રૂપીઆ લઈને કહું કે એ લી હું ભુલ છે માટે ભંડારનાં એ નુકના લાએક નથી *

7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.

૭ પછી તેઓએ નનક્ષુબા કરીને પરદેશીઓને દાઢવા શારૂ તેથી કુંભારનું ખેતર વેચાથી લીધું

8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day..

૮ તેમાટે આજશુધી તે ખેતર લેાહીનું ખેતર કહેવા

9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;
