PSALM LV. 17.-"Evening, and morning, and at noon, PHILADELPHIA: 1834. Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1833, by the Rev. Colin M⭑Iver. In the Clerk's Office, of the Cape Fear District Court of North Carolina. PREFACE. THE design of the following selection of hymns, is so plainly expressed in the title page, that the editor does not deem it necessary to say any thing, by way of preface, except to state, that notwithstanding the great variety of good hymns with which the Christian public have already been furnished, in the different collections extant; yet, no one of the various hymn books heretofore published, has appeared to him, precisely to answer the special object of this compilation. Under the impression that a book of this kind was needed, to fill up a chasm, not supplied by any of the selections which have heretofore been in circulation, he has been induced to add this one to their number. He JUN 26 1901 15018E commends it to the attention and patronage of his Christian brethren of all evangelical denominations; but, above all, to the favour and countenance of ALMIGHTY GOD, humbly praying, that it may graciously please HIM, eminently to bless it, to the edification and comfort of his own children, wheresoever, in his good providence, it may find circulation.
