that gracious invitation of our Lord and Saviour, “Come ye blessed children of my Father," and may enjoy happiness unspeakable in the life everlasting. Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, increase our faith and help our unbelief; and we will ascribe unto thee, Three Persons but One God; Unity in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity; all honour and glory, dominion, praise, and thanksgiving, this day and for evermore.-AMEN.
A Prayer designed for the use of Schools.
O GOD, the Father Almighty, Maker of Heaven and Earth, we thank thee that thou hast preserved us through the night past, and brought us safely to the beginning of this day. We thank thee for our life, our health, for all the blessings of thy providence, and the means of grace, especially for those afforded us in this school. But above all we would thank thee for the gift of JESUS CHRIST, thy only Son, our Lord ; who being born of the Virgin Mary, lived, suffered, died, and rose again for us. May we through him obtain forgiveness of all our sins, and rise from the death of sin to a life of righteousness. O Lord JESU CHRIST, who now sittest at the right hanå of GOD the Father Almighty, give us, we pray thee, true repentance; may we be heartily sorry for all that we have done amiss; and do thou, who in the days of thy flesh didst suffer little children to come unto thee, now receive us and bless us, and pray to thy father for us, that when thou shalt come to judge the quick and the dead, we may be found acceptable in thy sight. Send down the Holy Ghost from above, to create in us new hearts and sanctify us. And do thou, O Holy Spirit, enlighten our understandings to receive the instruction which shall be given us this day. Take from us all love of sin, and make us humble and meek'; obedient to our parents, spiritual pastors and teachers; and incline us to love one another. Thus may we be true members of thy Holy Catholic Church, and enjoy the Communion of Saints. Through the blood of JESUS CHRIST may we receive forgiveness of all our sins ; and when we die, may we have a sure and certain hope of a blessed resurrection, and enter into everlasting life. Accept, O Heavenly Father, these our imperfect prayers, for the sake of JESUS CHRIST; to whom, with Thyself and the Holy Ghost, we would ascribe all honour, praise, and glory, now and for evermore. Amen.
OUR Father which art in Heaven, hallowed be thy Name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done in earth, as it is in Heaven: give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation ; but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.
THE grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost, be with us all evermore. Amen.
