Jennifer Lawler, a full-time free-lance writer, was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, but spent most of her live in Kansas City area. For the past ten years, she has lived in Lawrence, Kansas. She earned a Ph.D. (medieval literature) from the University of Kansas in 1996. She had previously earned a MA and a BGS from that institution. For six years, she taught English at the college level, before pursuing a writing career. Since 1996 she has been a full-time free-lancer, and has written numerous books about sports, popular culture and travel.
